So far good. Very sleepy. Finally took cath out removed the feet thing. Oxygen off. They said vitals are good. On 2nd oz of Water. At 12 they will give me 5 caps of Protein. Suppose to check out at 3. But i am scared have anxiety nothing for it but doing ok. Keep praying for me

So glad to hear from you. Did you tell the nurse about your anxiety? Maybe she can call the doc and get you something. It is perfectly normal to feel that way. Don't suffer. Try to stay ahead of the pain. Walk, sip and rest. Praying for you and sending you the most healing of thoughts.

I've gotta do something. can only relax and sleep so much. but everyone that has said to call them if I need anything aren't picking up their phones. so when time comes back around that I have a new vehicle and someone needs something... well sorry you weren't there for me. so why should I drop what I'm doing. and I just found out my boyfriends brother totaled his truck last night. so now my boyfriend is without a truck as well. ugh

Glad you made it okay! Going home your going to focus more on staying hydrated, the protein part will come into play down the road. Chin up girl you can do this. Every day you will feel better than day before.

Good to hear from you Old Hippie Gal!

I think it is normal to be anxious. I'm thinking of you and praying for your recovery. I found it easier to relax once I got home in my own bed and surroundings. Good luck! You've got this.

Happy homecoming, hippie gal! Your first few days will seem overwhelming as you try to adapt to this new phase in your life, but it should soon fall into place. Stay hydrated (sip), walk, and rest! Congrats on going home!

I hate this. I feel sad and depressed. I'm so mad at myself that I had to have major surgery and totally change my life just to control my eating. How long till I stop feeling so crappy? I'm not on pain meds cus they give me headaches, but I sleep a lot and have crazy dreams- eating mcds fries, taking pinches of Cookies. I have so much pressure still even though I'm getting a little burping, farting and bowels moving (sorry) I just feel like crap. I was told that I'd regret it, but it would get better. WHen??

I don't know Lola. I'm three weeks out and still regret it. I still go through the depression and am really mourning food. I trust it will get better for us both.

Lola,

Give it some time and focus on all the things you gain... Not the things that are lost. I admit I have had a few food dreams, too. I wake up, though, and I'm so glad it's a dream. You have just had major surgery, you are going to feel like crap for a little bit, but it gets better everyday. Try to get some fresh air, walk, hang with family or friends. Focus on you getting fabulously healthy. Sending you lots of healing thoughts!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
