Ok' date=' I was told that I could keep my Mirena in for surgery, which went well. The problem is that I am 1 month out and I've had my cycle 3 times including coming home from surgery. The third one was really BAD! Is anyone else experiencing any Mirena issues?

Hello ladies here is my story....

SD 11/2/12 rny

I had mirena placed in me 8 weeks after my third child. Well it fell out 2 months later ,,, my body rejected it dr said !!!!! So I decided to get my tubes tide, And I did in July 2011 well I ended up getting pregnant in November 2011 and then for no reason I had a. Miscarriage at the end of December .... So drs said this is rare and I'm the lucky 1 in 1000...

Dr doesn't know if I can get pregnant but he feels that I can and for some reason my tube opened,,,, I got a second opinion and the dr said yes I can get pregnant but it is risky because my pregnancy has a 50% chance to form in the tube and a 50% chance to make it to my uterus ! So my suggestion is to not trust any form of bc.

EVERYONE has stories -

just think about how many Gastric Bypass stories you’ve heard???!!!

My gyn is a man who was a former military doctor - said he placed thousands of merina’s and ONE slipped out - it’s entirely possible - I LOVE my merina. What’s the absolute worst that can happen?

Hey Silvia' date=' I was thinking that mine had come out, but since I recently came on again, now it's back on the regular Mirena cycle. I also am not depending on it for birth control cause I have my tubes tied. My obgyn just had me get it cause my cycles were so bad. It has worked for that and I was very happy, but if it makes me gain weight then I hope it will fall out <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

It never made me gain weight so I'm happy with it in that sense.

I never gained any weight on the mirena so I'm happy in that sense.

Abstinence is the ONLY sure fire way of not getting preggers - every single method has the potential of an unplanned pregnancy - and everyone loves to tell their stories...remember when you were pregnant how everyone LOVES telling you horror stories about their friends friends sisters uncles dogs cousin who got pregnant on accident and had the worst labor ever? Maybe I’m just special and everyone NEEDED to tell me their crazy stories?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
