Gas Pains Then .......

Recommended Posts

For the last two nights I've woken up with horrible gas pains i tried curling up in the fetal position hoping to fart (sorry to be blunt). Only to have to poop (again sorry to be blunt) a few minutes later. I'm hoping it's a fluke but had anyone else had this problem. Oh and to be blunt again it's green poop which for me has been normal. The doc is ok with it as long as I don't get the chills or fevered.

How far out from surgery are you? I'm 7 weeks out and once in a while will get the cramps/gurgling in my intestines. I can't guess if it will be gas or that I have to go so I get up and go just in case. :) Most of the time it happened earlier after the surgery for me and has gotten better. Just occassionally it happens now.

Pay attention to what you've had to eat that day....you could be sensitive to milk/dairy, sugar alcohols etc.

I'm 6 weeks tomorrow. I had eggs both days but one in the morning one day at night. Very puzzling.

Gas-X has been my BFF since day 5 of surgery. Gas pain is a killer and sometimes I just need to pass gas (fart) one time for everything to feel better. But without gas-x it takes FOREVER. I'm 7 weeks post op and I still have to occasionally take something for gas. Ugh.

When you chew your food really well it does tend to add air to it. I know for me some meats that I have to chew that well cause issues. If you had eggs.....maybe switch the way you're having them? If scrambled try soft boiled or poached. I know scrambled for me aren't good......hubby learned how to poach them for me and it's been working out great.

I'll Definately get gas x. The eggs have been in egg salad but it could be the chewing with air. I just hate waking up like that! Never had it until now thought I was one of the lucky ones lol

I take infant gas drops and lay down when I have gas issues. Usually subsides in a few mins

I think that the Protein Shakes are making me gassy, I too have green poops - LOL. If there is a day where I do not drink my Protein Shake those are the days I don't have gas.

Just did a search on "eggs and gas" and found this.

Prior to RNY I had a stomach like a tank and Never got gas really - could eat anything.

I am almost 3 wks post. Haven't really had any problems. However, this morning I woke up in left shoulder pain and pain all high abdomen (basically under my breast area). It's not unbearable, but nothing I have had before - although this shoulder pain is exactly the same that I had from the gass of the surgery.

Well yesterday, I had my first soft scrambled egg (basically pureed). I just took some Gas x and am hoping that is the problem.

I have never had gas cramps in my life so I dont know what they feel like. I also have eaten eggs almost every day of my life pre-op.

I hope this is just gas and that the gas x works. Today I am going all liquid protien again to be on the safe side.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
