Do you sleep in the nude?

Recommended Posts

Wow! A lot of naked sleepers. I feel too exposed also, plus if someone breaks in my house... I don't want to be naked! (isn't that the weirdest statement???)

I have to be the only cold natured fat girl I know. I sleep in a heated waterbed, in PJ's with a fuzzy blanket next to me, then a comforter and finally a very heavy quilt on top of that....then add socks and sometimes a hat and you have me....Lord, what am I going to do when I lose weight!?! I may have to get me a burly man to sleep with (I suppose one for each side would be greedy).:faint:

out of my mind...please leave a message...cat

I'm with you, babe. Old t shirt and jama pants everyday every season.....I'm way to shy especially being overweight. But before the weight i didn't sleep nude. We R Just the Modest Ones...

I slept naked for many years until I had my child relatively late in life. You know, nursing, full breasts etc.

Like a lot of you I used to hate being tangled up in clothes at night.

We spent many years in the cold climate up north, several of those in a small cabin with no running Water. If I had to pee in the night I would climb out of bed into the frigid cabin air, slip on boots and a jacket and shuffle out, bare arsed, in 20 below, sometimes more, weather to the outhouse. I just didn't get it that jammies keep you warm.

One good thing, we had a styrofoam toilet seat in our privvie. Instant warmth on your bottom! Yikes, maybe that's tom.

I actually missed going outside when we finally built our house and got an indoor toilet. I missed being in touch with the weather and I missed the northern lights.

I sleep naked on occasion, but usually in a tee shirt (summer) and LOTS of stuff (like sweats) in the winter. I have come a long way. When I was young, I not only had to have a nightie or PJs in order to sleep, I required underwear, too.

I bought my DH silky PJ pants for Valentine's Day. I want him to wear them to bed, but not necessarily to sleep in. They feel soooooooooo sexy!

What do you mean underpants too. Of course, I wear underpants when I sleep as well as my nightgown. If there's ever a fire, I'm prepared. I've already figured out that I'll throw Mother out her window, round up the pet and save my laptop. But I'll be well dressed with undies on.

I have slept nude for many years. Its the whole tangle thing. I do not sleep restfully (I have PLMD and lack of REM paralysis. I sleep like I'm kickboxing.). Its a big enough trial just to keep the covers on the bed and the things on the nightstand (its only a foot away from the bed-- so sometimes I sweep things off of it, or if its one of those when I am throwing things, or tossing my pillow around, I don't know stuff will end up). Worrying about keeping clothes on me and comfortable is just another irritation- and one I was glad to eliminate. Sometimes I will wake up briefly because I am cold and then I take back some of the blankets from my husband or pick some up off the floor, find my pillows and go back to sleep.

What I really want to know is how to keep my hair from getting knotted and hopelessly tangled. I'm thinking maybe if I try a braid and hairnet... If I can get the hairnet to stay on.

I used to have very long hair and I am a burrower...several pillows and burrow down into them...I kept my hair untangled by doing a loose braid. Just make sure not to tie it with a rubber band....does nasty things to the ends of the hair...good luck!

How do you keep your hair in the braid? Is it a normal braid or a special kind? I've found when I do braids my hair comes out of them, so I was wondering if there was a technique... I also do this wierd repetitive head turning thing in my sleep which I suspects contributes to the knots, but I really hate having to cut them out of my hair after spending thirty minutes with detangler in the mornings. (and yes I have complained to my neurologist about this)

HAHA!! thats funny, years ago my grandfather had that happen to him. Had a curtain catch fire in an old ranch house and after he got everyone out and they were standing outside he realised he was BUFF!!

I usually sleep naked or with just a short tee. Anything more I will get tangled up in. If I do fall asleep with clothes on, they are always wadded up at the end of the bed by the time I wake up.

In winter I do go to bed with socks sometimes..those always end up off to though.

Holy Cow! Not only am I armed with underwear and a nightgown, but I also wear socks to bed. I often have to remove them when my feet finally get warm. I have the feeling that I may always be single since I'm just not sexy in bed. I even cover up with my nightgown which is fleece and warm. Oh well, the cat likes to sleep with me.

I will only sleep in a very baggy very fine cotton nightgown or nightshirt. These are getting to be quite hard to find. Everyone buys pajamas these days. And there are a lot of synthetics out there.:rose: I can't wear anything on my lower half; it quickly crawls up and into my arse and then I have to haul it out again. ;)

And I have sensitive skin and am usually too hot! Even in winter, I always have a fan on. I used to sleep nekkid when I was younger and much, much thinner but now I am embarassed. :omg: I also have high thread count bed sheets now that I am an old fart.< img src="https://s.bariatricpal.com/uploads/emoticons/default_laugh.png" alt="" /> It's the least that I can do for myself, eh.:rose:

sorry it took so long to reply. I would just braid my hair about halfway and then use a comfortable hair band to hold it in place. Stayed braided even on my most restless nights....good luck.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
