It's normal, I'm in the same boat start at 210 on surgery day , was 200 one week after surgery , and today I'm 199. Just hang in there and try to get more Protein that's really important. Everyone 's body is different.

Hey guys... I am 6 weeks post op and am losing about 1-2 lbs a week' date=' sometimes not at all. Ist this normal?[/quote']

Hi Lovely,

I think this is normal for people who start off at a smaller total body weight. Most people who are loosing 5 to 10 pounds every week or two were probably 250 and over. It also depends on your food - Protein, Water intake. Last, but not least everyone body is different. My friend who inspired me to go ahead with the survey lost 30 pounds a months and I'm no where near that. But, I started off smaller than her and she was doing about 100g of Protein a day, which I'm not even close to.

Yes it is totally normal. I am 7 weeks post op. I lost 30 pounds from the week before surgery to 2 weeks post op, but in the last 5 weeks I have lost maybe 12 pounds, including some gaining weight back up and then losing again. But as everyone told me just make sure Protein is over 75, that you are exercising, taking Vitamins, drinking enough Water and eating at least 600 calories (I upped mine to 700-900 a day) and you will start losing again. Even without doing it you will start losing again, but you still might want to examine how you are doing in all areas mentioned above.

I have started losing again, just hoping I do this for at least a week before I hit another stall. Recently I lose a couple pounds over the week, gain 1back then stall for a week, so hoping all the changes I made will break through that wall and let me have a week or two of losing. Lost 2 pounds this week so far since friday, which is better then anytime in the past 5 weeks, I started at 250 day of surgery (261 the week prior) and today I am at 219. I was stalled pretty much at 221 for the past while.

Good luck and don't get too disheartened. You will succeed and you will meet your goals if you are follow all the guidelines.

Keep us posted!!

Ellie

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
