Finally Joined A Gym. Now What?

I after months of hemming and hawing I finally joined a gym. The problem is, I'm terrified to go in that place!

The last time I was in a health club everyone wore leotards and legwarmers! (think Flashdance)!!!!

I actually drove out there yesterday and got as far as the parking lot and drive home. I totally chickened out!

I wish I had someone to go with me!

If any one lives in the SoCal area and goes to 24 Hour Fitness and you wouldn't mind going with a middle aged out of shape woman, let me know!

I was thinking. Since its open 24 hours I could go kind of late and just walk on the treadmill or elliptical or something and check the place out.

Any advice would be really appreciated!

I'm in NorCal but I know how you feel I have 24 fitness, chicks walking around looking at themselves in the mirror. I was the biggest person there. So I started going at 1 am, then I thought I'm here

  • I've been going for a long time to 24 hour fitness up in Seattle. When I first started I noticed the young fitness buffs usually did not come early in the morning, I guess they need their beauty slee

I don't know but is been walking I don't want to do any weight lifting until after my six weeks this is week 4 for me coming up.

I joined a 24 hour gym in my area (cape cod) and love it. Every day I see different types of people in there. They are all working on themselves and so am I. I am 5'2" and 240 down from 288. I surprise myself every time I try a new machine. Started on the treadmill. Now I can do the elliptical for 15 minutes! And I had a session with a personal trainer for weight training. I find my stress level is down and my weight is falling off. My key to success is put yourself first and don't think about what others may think.

It takes 6 weeks to heal. Wait until your 6 week follow up. I walked every day after 2 weeks and felt a bit dizzy doing that.

Oh okay. I go to the gym now trying to build up my muscle tone
