I have always been riculed about my weight. I finally decided to do the ultimate. I have been to the seminar and after talking with friends who have had bypass I have decided to go that route. I will see the surgeon on July 3 and will get the ball rolling. I know I qualify but I am still nervous. My family will support me but my husband does not want me to do this. I just need some positive support.

So you husband wants you unhappy and unhealthy. Wow what love he has for you. And I'm sure he does love you and is some what scared of what he does not understand. My wife and daughter & son are more excited about the life change then i am . And can't wait to have a skinny daddy. And a health daddy that will be around for a long time. "Be positive you are doing the right thing "

Ask your husband to go with you to all your doctor appointments and he will learn along with you. Then he will be behind you 100% Good luck

Maybe it isn't that he's unsupportive . It could be fear. This is surgery and with surgery there are risks. It's a life style change for the entire family and it's unfamiliar. To fear the unfamiliar is normal.

Men are the worst. Mine didn't support me & still doesn't support me. He is disappointed that I'm not the same person that enjoys food like before like eating 2 slices of pizza with extra cheese going to city island for lobster. I told him I can enjoy all that except pizza in a few months. I can dine out but broil fish not fried small changes. He still isn't happy and would rather me eat & enjoy food like before. I don't want to be like before.

I feel ya. Mine is becoming insecure. He has always told me that he'll love me no matter what size. I think he meant on the larger side of things. It's an adjustment for him too. We have always enjoyed food, beer, wine together & remove that from the equation & we are pretty boring. This is for you. If he chooses not to be in the same boat, then that's on him. You can't change anyone but only tell them how you feel and what they decide to do with it is on them. Keep your head up doll!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
