Hi my rny friends! I'm trying to put together a menu for our liver shrink diet. I can drink protein shakes, I'm gonna do smoothies (veggies and fruit), and lean meat with unlimited veggies all day...I don't wanna get bored with same thing every day anyone have ideas. Thanks

Newman's light dressings are good. Very low fat dressings are ok I was told. I really like Newman's light Balsamic vinegarette.

For liver shrinking I was told low fat, high Protein diet worked best. They recommended I use one Protein shake a day in place of a meal. Lots and lots of water!

Wait until you see your surgeon because they usually tell you what you can and can not have to shrink your liver. Good luck.

I drank only water and ice tea.

We can do fat free dressings

My surgeon and his dieticians were pretty clear about what we could and couldn't have. Protein shakes were fine (without milk), but we couldn't exceed 20 carbs a day. We can basically have whatever we want, as long as it's semi-healthy as long as we kept the carbs low. *shrug*

He's supposedly one of the best surgeons in the country, so I trust his guidance.
