Has the sweating stopped?

Recommended Posts

I was just like that..before surgery..i lived in flip flops 365 days a year. I never wore a coat or a sweatshirt in winter. I would literally sweat buckets doing nothing..i would sit on the couch at home and just sweat. I would sweat if i walked, went shopping, walked slowly around a block. I would sweat while sitting in church. I would sweat in the friggen pool while swimming. I would sweat while getting changed out of my bathing suit. And now.....

I dont ever sweat anymore. I take hot hot showers and my face doesnt drip with sweat. I walk, i shop, i go for coffee, i go to church, i do everything..without sweating!!

In fact i get cold now. I wear coats, jackets, fleece sweatshirts and hoodies. My hands freeze often and i now need to wear socks and shoes. I can swim and not come out of the pool with a face full of sweat..there is no dripping sweat on my face and down my back from a short walk with a friend. Point is: ya just dont sweat doing nothing.. In order to sweat, i need to exercise like run/walk.

You will find that this surgery will change your sweaty sticky life forever!! Look forward to the freedom!!

Yes your life will change, before surgery I never even used the heater in my car and as soon as my husband left for work in the morning I would turn the heat off! I didn't even own a winter coat, fast forward 15 months and 133 lbs, I now own many coats, Ugg boots, gloves and scarves, and I now have to sleep in flannel pjs. I'm not complaining tho cause this is so much better than being soaking wet all the time!

Yes it does and you will most likely find yourself putting on a thin jacket on to keep warm too!

Sweatshirts? I wear head-to-toe North face. Even my slippers are North face and suitable for 80 below... I am that sad and that cold...

Can I just say Madam Reverie that I LOVE your humor!

I'm 2.5 years out. I have a lot of cute sweatshirts, sweaters, gloves, scarves, hats and coats. I warm my blanket in the heater a few minutes if I'm really chilled. And I layer shirts. Without my 100+pundits natural warm suit I almost never sweat.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Have a great Wednesday too! Sorry you're hungry all the time, I'm pretty much the same..and I'm sick of eating the same food all the time.

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
