Do any US doctors have the experience of the Mexico focs?

Recommended Posts

So I originally started looking into the surgeons in Mexico because of price. However, I could jump through hoops and get 60% paid after my deductible and end up close to the same price.

But I have found that none of the top local surgeons have the experience of the popular Mexican Docs. Even Dr Elias Ortiz, who is fairly new, has performed more sleeve surgeries than most. It seems like the US docs are still caught up with lap band.

I'm going to Mexico for surgery on Nov.13th and I am more confident BC of this.... hope I'm right!

I did find that many of the Mexico docs I looked into had more surgeries under their belt than many US surgeons, and they didn't get there by doing 8-10 sleeves a day either. As you say I think many starting sleeving earlier than some of the ones here.

Hi Bob, I don't know the answer to your question for sure, but I feel like my research has come up with the same answers as you. The Mexican doctors have more experience with the sleeve... and experience matters. Good luck with your trip!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
