When I had my surgery I waited for about two weeks after then I started on the tredmill and build myself up to weights. Then I just stop working out for a long time, like 8mths. Now I just went and got me a membership last night at my local gym and started working out last night. It felt great cause I know this will aid in losing weight and build some confidence in me.

I'm still pretty early in the exercise stages. I love my treadmill and am trying to walk 3-4 times per week.

I just started to try "jogging." I walk 7 minutes quickly (3.1 mph) and then kick it up to 3.6 mph for 1 minute, then back down to fast walking for 7 mins....you get the pic.

My long term goal is to run in the annual Trout Run, our town has during the local festival next year.

I guess I'm not sure how to get myself in shape for this. Once the snow melts i'll be bike riding more than walking.

Just wondering how you "runners" got started.

Is there a program you followed to increase your stamina?

By the end of my walk/jog I'm screaming for oxygen but my leg muscles don't hurt.

I'm doing hip hop abs and I just finished my first week. I excercise Monday thru Saturday!

:faint:

This weeks plan also calls for exercising two times a day on certain days.

I'm taking this VERY SERIOUSLY. I simply cannot attain the goals I want for my body and health without exercise.

Relatively new bandster here...does anyone use a treadmill to walk every day? I have a chance to get one at a reasonable price...thought it might help when it is cold outside. And convenient as well. Anyone tried this for exercise?

Treadmills are great. Just get one with various programs and incline. Otherwise I don't think they are worth it. Make sure it is a good treadmill, you have to take your weight into consideration. Many are fro 250lbs or less. If you happen to weigh more than that you'll need one designed for heavier people or you'll burn out the motor.

If I power walk I read a book or mag. If I run I just breathe really hard. :D

I try to exercise every day; if I can't, at least three times a week.

I go to curves 6 days a week. I would go 7 but they arent open on sundays.

I also work at a busy bar everyday so I get some fitness in that way as well. I really started noticing the weight fall off once I started moving my ass.

I try to exercise every day. If I don't exercise one day it just makes it five times harder to exercise the next day - gotta keep the momentum going, even if it's only 15 minutes! This strategy has gotten me up to exercising about an hour to two hours a day, and it feels great! Hope I can keep it up!

I just started working on my treadmill last Sunday. I've increased from 15 minutes to 35 minutes. I'm aiming for 60 minutes and then I'll start working on increasing the speed and incline. So far I do about 1/2 and 1/2 at 2.5+ to 3.0 and I've done it every day since.

I'm loving it... not the working out part... but the after effects.

Loving Leslie Sansom's walking DVD...I'm walking 2 miles every morning rain or shine...and I'm loving it. I plan on adding in some night workouts as well. Not sure what to do yet....want some type of hip hop aerobics...anyone have good ideas???

I try going to the gym 4 or 5 times a week. If that's not possible, I try taking long walks instead of using the car or the bus to go to work.

Here is my routine for a week:

Sunday: Lower body circuit training w/3 circuits. 1 to 1 1/2 hrs on a treadmill (4 mph w/3% incl)

Monday: am-50 min on trdmll (same spd/incl), pm-upper body circuit training w/3 circuits

Tues-am-50 min on trdmll (same spd/incl)

Wed-am-50 min on trdmll (you know the routine:biggrin:)

Thur-am-50 min on trdmll, pm lower body circ. trng w/3 circuits.

Fri-am-50 min on trdmll, pm-upper body circ. trng w/3 circuits

Sat-1 1/2 to 2 hrs on trdmll.

This has been since I was banded in late Aug., 07. I've only missed 5 days since I started up 1 wk post op. Seems I almost live at the gym sometimes.:D

I wish I had that dedication, but I don't....I want enough to maximize my health, and little enough I don't spend hours a day!

Lazy me!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
