October 100 Mile Challange!

Hey everyone! Great job on your totals for September and a huge thank you to Butterthebean for starting that post and challenging us all to challenge ourselves. We all wish BTB great success and a speedy recovery from his surgery. We know you will be watching and cheering us on. October is among us and with that comes a new challenge. 100 miles in 31 days! Walk, run, bike, whatever you do, log those miles and drink that water! Anyone who has been lurking in the shadows and watching last months challenge, now is your time to join us! It doesn't matter if you do 1 mile a day or 20, just go at your pace and have fun! For those of us who participated in last months challenge, I want to issue a personal challenge to add another 15 miles to what you did last month. After all, there is 1 more day in this month.

On a side note, this group has become very motivational for me as well as others. If you don't mind, let's let everyone know your real first name. If you would rather not and just want to go with your username that is perfectly fine. I will kick it off...my name is Ted. Good luck everyone and log those miles!!

Wow! You're giving your new bike quite the workout! Good for you. It's all about starting out treating that b/tch the way you mean to go on! Don't let her get complacent. :P Seriously that's very cool and it's not easy to do so good for you.

I so love you. Lol

You guys keep me motivated! Added a 10.2 mile ride this morning Total 124.7.

Girl!!!!! You are showing out!! :)

Well between sick kids' date=' Hubby home, mother in law visiting...I only got 2 miles in today 82 total...[/quote']

Lordy!! I'd say RUN! ( to another house! Lol)

Did a nice quick walk around my friends property today. I guess a couple miles.

Got in a 2.5 mile walk yesterday. Haven't had much time to exercise since last Tuesday owing to work schedule. This working two part-time jobs thing is a PITA and I just need to rest a bit. Brings my total to 64.3. Not sure if I'm gonna get to 125 miles this month but this challenge helps to keep me motivated and more active than I would likely be otherwise. I am, by nature, pretty damn lazy!

I am also in that category, Chelenka. :). So the CHALLENGE gets me moving. Can't stand to lose. Ha!

I didn't even ATTEMPT this b/c I thought you pretty much HAD to get in 100 miles and I honestly didn't think it was attainable for me!! I'll do the next one for sure!

So two more miles today and I'm not even home yet. But that puts me at 40.2. Original goal met, going for 60 now.

Also going to cancun tomorrow with my darling, much-loved husband whom I have missed lately due to work, house guests, kids starting school, and more work. I plan to snorkel every damn day I can and hang out with him as much as we can. I plan to come back next Thursday all rested and happy :)

Oh how nice! A much deserved break for you...I hope you have fun! And, congrats on meeting your goal. I knew you could do it!

Of course, you will! Besides the " hard cores" (y'all know who you are :) most are just trying to get more active and a challenge gets us moving! Ha!

Redbean, you don't have to get any specific mileage. The whole idea is simply to do more than you would otherwise. To push yourself slightly out of your comfort zone. By logging the miles, you know exactly what you've done. Then, next month, aim to do just a little bit more.

You can do it.

Walked 1.6 miles this morning. 5.5 total so far. Felt easier today. Slowly getting back my energy.

It's good to hear that you are feeling better!

Thanks for the info, I am one who does better with a challenge for sure...so yep, I'm in next one:):)

Well it's Monday and again my weekend was a bust as far as getting in my miles. I'm still under the weather but I did manage to get in 9.6 miles on my bike on Friday and Saturday. I slacked yesterday...This brings my total for the month to: 73.27. My goal is 125 miles...I have to get in 5.2 miles/day. I will do my best..not sure if I can do it!

Edited by RoxFC

You can do it RoxFC. Don't give up. We have 10 days left. I plan to get at least 5 miles Halloween night. No distance is too far to walk for free candy.
