animal protein intolerance?

Recommended Posts

I'm one month post op and developed this. Had anyone had a similar experience? I was told to try vegan foods, but besides my veggie burgers I'm not sure how else to get Protein now.

What do you mean by intolerance? Is it the taste, diarrhea, Constipation, nausea.......... I think it will help people answer your question. :)

If I eat even a small bite I start throwing up, sweating, I'm in immense amounts of pain, then I get horrible diarrhea :(

I am a true carnivore, but from time time I use other forms of Protein powders.. You can try pea protein (not great to drink) hemp protein, egg... And a few more I can't think of off the top of my head. It might be the milk you are mixing it with too.. I went dairy free etc only to discover it was the soya causing the cramps and runny tummy!! Good Luck!!

Thank you :) I can't do dairy, and I've tried the soy with no luck. I'm going to attempt rice and almond milk today, if its works I'm going to try veggie Protein shakes :)

Yes like I said, definitely don't recommend drinking the pea Protein but cooking with it is good...if you go onto the website called protein pow(Der) there are a few low carb, high protein recipes.. One is for crepes, they are made with egg whites, pea Protein Powder and whatever form of milk. We get dairy free coconut milk in the carton here in UK, it's very nice!! Hope you find something that works for you!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
