Calcium Caseinate (a milk derivative)

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a product called "Big Train" Fit Frappe', coffee Protein Drink mix. It lists 21 grams of Protein, 1 gram of sugar, 130 calories, 22 grams of carbs, and 5 grams of Fiber for a 16 oz. serving. It tastes great, and since I opened the container I can't return it. I know whey protein is optimal for absorption and nutritional value. I haven't heard anything about Calcium Caseinate. Has anyone used this product, and what are your thoughts? Any other recommendations for a mocha type shake high in protein?

:) Hi Amy. I recently purchased the Fit Frappe too & had same question once I tasted it - seemed too good to be true! I googled the question and found a webpage that compared Proteins. It showed the Calcium caseinate one step below whey Protein. The pros of calcium caseinate are slow absorption and highly digestible. The con was if you are lactose intolerant it may effect you. I have the comparison chart pinned on my "Protein Power" page on Pintrest if you want to check it out. My pintrest user name is TAWehle.

I like fit frappes when i want to stay full. Casien Protein is a slow absorber. And it helps me with not being so hungry. However it can be hard on the stomach after constant consummation. So i wouldn't use just that all the time. Mix it up. :)

Muscle Milk has Casien Protien. I enjoy the muscle milk (I'm still in pre op weight loss 10lbs to go) so I am up to replacing two meals a day muscle milk.

Until 3 am Fri night and again sat night I wake up with a ice pick pain on one side of my head. It was brutal. I later learned it was a Migraine. I had never had one. Further investigation and it linked to Casien Protein. I'm going to try to go back to one a day. Anyone else experience this?

I'd check with your nut. Mine specifically said Protein isolate only because the others won't provide your body with the full amount of protein because of digestibility.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
