Hi everyone! This is my first post. I just got sleeved on Thursday by Dr. Feiz down in Huntington Beach California. I've already had complications and was sent back to the hospital Sunday morning and have been here since. Supposedly I have a cyst in my stomach that is combining with the swelling and preventing anything from getting in. :(

I'm so helpless and worried now. Praying things will get better soon.

I did lose two pounds though!

Thank you! I have an upper gi test today to see if I could finally have some liquids again or not! Never wanted a liquid diet more than I do now lol

Wishing you luck from Florida here to. I hope they resolve this soon so you can continue with your journey. Did they do an endoscopy before your surgery? If they did it would have been found.

They did but I was never told about a cyst. Just told I had a pancreatic pouch

I had my surgery on Friday the 6th, and aside from the expected soreness, the only thing I can complain about is this lump at the bottom of my throat. I've tried warm liquids and popscicles, but nothing affects it. I'd feel pretty darn good if it would go away.

I'm sorry they didn't find the cyst prior to surgery, as it would have seemed logical to have removed whilst they were in their the first time. I also had my gallbladder taken out as well as repair of an old Hiatel hernia.

My doc said when he found it he biopsied it but the position of the cyst, taking it out now would make my stomach too narrow so he kept it in :( have you talked to your doctor about your lump to see if there's anything they can do

I had my sleeve on the 5th as well. No issues thus far however I am starving. I am hungry. I thought that the sleeve was also suppose to remove the hunger feeling.

I'm hungry too. But I haven't been able to have any liquids until today

Hope things are getting better with you... Had my surgery in the same hospital. Had some trouble bouncing back from surgery as well. But ultimately with the right attitude, lots and lots of patience, and with Dr. Feiz's guidance I finally got well.

I guess we are the bottom small percentages that have complications and longer recovery time. I'm at point in my journey where I'm finally out of the tunnel, and hoping you're at least seeing the light. :-)

That's awesome that we have the same surgeon. I'm still recovering and only on liquids but at least I can keep most my liquids down now lol. When did you have surgery?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
