Anti-Semitism In France!

Someone recently passed this article on to me, which I posted on another board. It was promptly removed. So sad . . .

Frightening News from France

Once again, the real news in France is conveniently

not being reported as it should. To give you an idea

of what's going on in France where there are now

between 5 and 6 million Muslims and about 600,000 Jews,

here is an email that came from a Jew living in

France. Please read! Will the world say nothing - again - as it did in Hitler's time?

"I AM A JEW -- therefore I am forwarding this to

everyone on all my e-mail lists. I will not sit back

and do nothing." Nowhere have the flames of

anti-Semitism burned more furiously than in France:

Lyon, a car was rammed into a synagogue and set

on fire. In Montpellier, the Jewish religious center

was firebombed; so were synagogues in Strasbourg and

Marseilles; so was a Jewish school in Creteil - all recently.

A Jewish sports club in Toulouse was attacked with

Molotov cocktails, and on the statue of Alfred

Dreyfus in Paris, the words "Dirty Jew" were

painted. In Bondy, 15 men beat up members of a

Jewish football team with sticks and metal bars. The

bus that takes Jewish children to school in

Aubervilliers has been attacked three times in the last 14 months.

According to the Police, metropolitan Paris has seen

10 to 12 anti-Jewish incidents PER DAY in the past

30 days. Walls in Jewish neighborhoods have been

defaced with slogans proclaiming "Jews to the gas

chambers" and "Death to the Jews."

A gunman opened fire on a Kosher butcher's shop

(and, of course, the butcher) in Toulouse , France;

a Jewish couple in their 20s were beaten up by five

men in Villeurbanne , France . The woman was

pregnant; a Jewish school was broken into and

vandalized in Sarcelles , France . This was just in

the past week.

So I call on you, whether you are a fellow Jew, a

friend, or merely a person with the capacity and

desire to distinguish decency from depravity, to do,

at least, these three simple things:

First, care enough to stay informed. Don't ever let

yourself become deluded into thinking that this is

no t your fight. I remind you of what Pastor

Neimoller said in World War II: "First they came for

the Communists, and I didn't speak up, because I

wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and

I didn't speak up, because I wasn't a Jew. Then they

came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up,

because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me,

and by that time there was no one left to speak up

for me".

Second, boycott France and French products. Only the

Arab countries are more toxically anti-Semitic and,

unlike them, France exports more than just oil and

hatred. So boycott their wines and their perfumes.

Boycott their clothes and their foodstuffs. Boycott

their movies. Definitely boycott their shores. If

we are resolved we can exert amazing pressure and,

whatever else we may know about the French, we most

certainly know that they are like a cobweb in a

hurricane in the face of well directed pressure.

Third, send this along to your family, your friends,

and your co-workers. Think of all of the people of

good conscience that you know and let them know

that you and the people that you care about need

their help. The number one best selling book in

France is "September 11: The Frightening Fraud,"

which argues that no plane ever hit the Pentagon."

Oh and the last part of my post that had what I said before:

The more I write "proof" the more it looks wrong to me.

And if you think my humor is blasphemous, I say God has a since of humor.. look at the platopus.

Its a mammal.. it lays eggs, but milk feeds its young, It has webbed feet and a tail, yet has fur.

Oh yes.. and from the bible.

"the marriage bed lays undefiled"

Or is that out of context too?

I nominate you!

You can say something like this, and still get bent out of shape about a joke about a BJ? Wow.

That is in perfect context, but what does that have to do with off-color humor by a supposed Christian on a public forum??

You see something sexual there??

You see something sexual there??

Not at all. I just think joking about executing someone for daring to disagree with the president is much worse then joking about a BJ. That's just me, other's won't agree. I'm OK with that.

Again, Ron, you and your scholars take what you want to take literally, I and mine will take what we want to take literally.

And to say that Catholics are sacrificing him thats ludicrous. How do you know He didnt want us to do it everyweek?

Maybe He didnt intend it to happen everyweek, maybe He is happy we do it everyweek now.

When someone says, "take the bible literally" and when Jesus said, "take this and eat of it, it is my body" and we take it literally, you say context.

Again. Its ALL literal or it is not.

You have your beliefs, and I am glad you do.

Do not force your "context" on my "literal", and I will not do the same to you.

Technically yes, I see something sexual there. You are telling TOM to be gay.

Whatever you say!

Ok for you Ron.

After um.. 10 years of not wearing makeup because I thought it was offensive to God, I am going to start wearing it again because, you say thats not what He meant.

Can you take it up with Him if have to go to hell?

Holy crap! 164 pages of posts on...? Whether the Bible is meant to be taken literally or whether Peter's a misogynistic pig? (Sorry, couldn't help myself). I tried wading through it, but damn!

Does this thread come with a Cliff's Notes?

PS: Ann Coulter's a hack. Divisive, self-centered, always looking for the money, more than willing to contribute to the problem if it furthers her pocketbook. JMO.

For what it's worth, I think the bible is allegorical and there are more mythical insights to be found in it than literal. Although it does have a few literal here and there.

But then, I was raised Greek Orthodox. And we all know how tricksy those Greeks can be!

This thread has been about so many things it would be difficult to summarize. But the one constant is that, when you're in subjective territory, there is no right or absolute.

Now since this thread is as subjective as its content, the 10 others can post their 10 summaries that do not resemble mine.

Ann Coulter is the worst kind of sell out.

Amen to the Ann Coulter sell out comment. But I do think you're being too kind.

It's so funny when someone who hasn't been here at all or for a while, reads a lot of this and then seems overwhelmed. I've found that the only way to really enjoy it is to jump right in and parrot back some of the most outlandish things that you read. It is humorous to see them sputter. We really shouldn't take advantage of the less gifted that way though.

The most interesting aspect of this thread is that at one point we all agreed that the Bible could not be interpreted in its' totality, as the literal word of God. Then it all deteriorated again after somebody slept on it.

Whee!
