Wonder if we can have tomato sauces post op when we can eat solid food. Plan on using it in Soups, meats but not Pasta as I heard Pasta is hard to digest with the sleeve.

How far post-op are you? I would hold off first acidic foods like tomatoes for the first 6 months.

Hello,

Since the sleeve I can no longer eat Pasta, my sleeve does not like it. As for the Pasta Sauce I would just be careful because of the acidity. I know for me I get reflux every now and then depending on what I eat so I say you can test the waters and see how it is for you. It seems to be a hit or miss these days when introducing foods back into your life after surgery. :)

I have no trouble eating tomatoes canned or not...Salsa is one of my favorites...I don't bother making spaghetti anymore because what's the point..But I do like tomatoes in Soup and stews like you said....

I drink orange juice at night to take down my Iron pill...I can now eat and orange without any reflux... That has all changed to me after the surgery...I am 10 months out and don't take Nexium anymore!

The nightshade family causes inflammation in the stomach, is most often acidic and like tomatoes are extremely high on carbs. I avoid all nightshades. Pasta too but I eat no grains at all.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
