good morning I'm doing well. still some soreness is swollen, but that's to be expected. Each day is a little better. I'm trying to focus on getting all my liquids in each day. it's tough, have to get into the habit of writing down what I drink. so far not going bad, I refuse to weigh myself, I do not want to get discouraged. I will continue to gauge myself by my old clothes. how are you doing?

I am from Harrisburg! I had my surgery at Penn State in Hershey.

I considered Hershey. How long was the program? Did u like it? How are you doing? When was your surgery?

I thought their program was very thorough and good. I had my kids at Hershey so I was comfortable there and my primary doc told me they had the most comprehensive program in the area. Just reading what some people say about the advice of theirdocs/programs, I feel I got a TONof great teaching and advice from the HMC program. I had my surgery July 19.

I am doing OK. I followed the program guidelines very well for diet progression and I haven't found any foods that disagree with me yet, and haven't had trouble getting my Protein and fluid goals met. I dropped a lotof weight on the pre-op liquid diet and right after surgery too. Then, even though I felt I was getting slimmerthe scale only said a pound a week for the next couple of weeks...so I put my scale away to avoid the frustration. I am keeping my food journal faithfully to be sure I stay on track.

Good morning Martha 761 and and nmck. This morning starting out to be a good day, yesterday I did have some gas problems and pain. Went out and about with my husband yesterday evening to purchase a new cell phone. That was my first time out since my surgery. So I was a little tired, but OK. I have been walking on my treadmill 10 to 15 minutes per day, trying to keep increasing a little each day. I still have not weighed myself, but some of my clothes are looser. Going to do a little laundry and walk again later. The big truck comes in the evening, gotta make dinner for my husband!!! Lol!!! Considering I'm on liquids still, this is going to be a challenge to say the least

Sounds like you're doing well. And, you sound in good spirits.

I was a bit down yesterday. Today I'm feeling much better.

I decided to stop obsessing over will they accept me or reject me and am i doing everything right.

I'm just going to do the best I can.

So, yesterday I didn't get in all my calories. I'll just record everything and pay for extra sessions w the RD if need be.

After making that decision, I feel much less anxious about the whole process.

Keep up the good work. I'm rooting for you.

Well I'm glad you feel better today. Obsessing about that will only continue to stress you out so I am really glad you came to that conclusion. I hope that you will be approved. So continue to do what is in your power to do. Everything else leave in prayer. Anything I can do to help I will.

I was a nervous wreck about approval too, but I think the vast majority get approved. I met a guy at the support group last month who had a liver transplant. There was a womanwith MS too. You're more than likely goingto be appoved.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
