Hi I'm 14 weeks out today and loving my sleeve although I'm a slow loser down 40lbs but very happy as there is NO way I could have lost like this before.

My issue is that for the past few days since I dropped a bit more weight I've been getting the same kind of pains you get when you have a period. Back ache and that dragging feeling on your stomach? The thing is I'm 47 and have had the Mirena coil in for 3 cycles now so I don't get periods. What is going on? Any suggestions? Thanks :)

I, too, have the Mirena. I had no periods for 6 years or so because of it till VSG. I spent my first two months post op on my period and it sucked. Any rapid weight loss can trigger a period, iud or not.

You are still cycling, cramps may be harder than normal and you might bleed. Be prepared.

Is it constant? Or come and go? Do you have your gallbladder? Have you ever had issues with your gall bladder? Your description makes me think gallbladder pain.

Even with the Mirena you have symptoms of your period.

It's not constant and today I didn't experience it at all so maybe it was just a blip? It really did feel like my old period symptoms though.. I used to suffer so badly with periods due to PCOS which is why I had to have the Mirena fitted after a constant period for about 5 months and once I have the Mirena fitted no more period and that was over 10 yrs ago. It will be very surprising to have them return I kinda hope not especially now when I was gearing up for the menopause!

I really hope its note gallbladder though.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
