August Sleevers...how are you doing? Any friends near Monterey?

Well, I did it. I am relieved it's over and I can get on with the new me.... The doctor/surgeon was amazing! The regular hospital medical staff was less to be desired. but ka sa ra sa ra.... My shoulder hurts from gas coming up I am told, ouch. My arm and hand hurt from where the IV's were put in, yes twice, and neither time was good. My side hurts like the dickens where the tubing was put in, but as for the rest. (But there wasn't any real pain taking it out, just a small pinch at the end) My stomach has no pain. I am sore, and still can't bend, but I am walking a lot, short amounts but often. I am dying to eat, anything that is not in sloppy cream of wheat form and can't wait to get back to my fresh fruit and veggies. So far I have tried Designer Whey, and hate it- I don't like vanilla I guess. I am not a fan of unjury either. I do ok with Muscle milk light. I am lactose intolerant and have to be careful with that. But I do like, no love the Chicken Broth, called "Chicken Bouillon Herbox Instand Broth and Seasoning" comes in small packets, it is gluten free and no msg. Looked on line and can buy in a box at Walmart. These are packets that the hospital gave me, and the only thing I had at every meal. So check them out if you need something different. I have lowered my pain meds by only 1/3 of was was recommended and feel I can be done with it all in another day or two. Which makes me happy. Hate taking that stuff, unless really needed. Anyone else frustrated with the waiting part? Anyone else feeing so good after such a short time? I was Sleeved on the 19th (Monday) and sent home 21st (Wednesday) this week. Anyone find something other than shakes to eat. Right now I am living on Ensure chocolate pudding and this Chicken broth it seems like. Of course water and hot tea. Any suggestions? Any one else in the same boat? Write me- love to hear how your doing too! Blessings for quick recoveries for all of us who have braved this major step in our lives!

HELLO ALL MY AUGUST SLEEVERS!!!

How are you guys doing??

I think I have come to a strange realization:

My weight loss is a byproduct of my lifestyle change...

The surgery is what kick started this process for me..

And I am endlessly glad that I had it...

I cannot believe that I have come to LIKE the gym... I hit the gym about 30 to 60 minutes a day...the elliptical burns the most calories, so I am on that thing 90 percent of the time...

I am eating between 900 to 1100 calories but with the time in the gym, I take in approx 500 calories a day...After some experimenting, I have discovered that this is what works best for me.

I hope you are all well!!! :)

(YAY!!! 40 more pounds to go!!!)

Hey August sleeves! I just want to stop in and give a update! HW: 260 SW: 247 CW: 212... I'm not happy right now.. I have been eating sweets.. I have been baking pies, cookies, and cakes for the holidays.. This is my favorite time of the year, and winter is my absolute favorite season.. But I hate it right now because I gained a pound.. (TEAR.) please tell me how do I get back on track! I have 62 more pounds to go.. 911 please...

I hear you on all the goodies that keep showing up. I have a Christmas cookie party to go to this weekend, so I am going to make an allowance for a small tidbit of a sweet but that's it. I am giving all the cookies away! My husband is bummed but he doesn't need them either.

I was sleeved on August 1st. It was the best decision I've ever made. I'm 25 pounds from goal. I need to tighten the reigns a bit. I've had some slips and slides (old habits die hard). I've learned I still can't manage my trigger foods. I've been bingeing on nuts. They go down too easily, and the calories add up quickly. My biggest challenge during the Christmas season is going to be cookies. I keep telling myself I can "indulge" on Christmas Day, but it's just one day. It doesn't last from Thanksgiving Day till New Year's Day.

Hey! I was sleeved 8/12. HW-242, SW-222, CW 180! The holidays are tough! On a Thanksgiving I ate! I was actually surprised that I could eat the variety of foods I ate! Traditionally, I carry food home from my moms but as hard as it was, I didn't bring home any goodies and the next two days I did all shakes just to help me get back in control. I've always been an all or nothing kinda girl. I'm trying to stay away from the sweets and breads, etc because if I allow myself to have a little, I'm afraid I'll go back to my old ways of wanting more! I wish you the best! I think I've turned my food addiction to a shopping addiction! I'm loving my sleeve!

Good for you 411angela, I wish I was losing that fast, I have had some slip ups and I know that has contributed. I am a slow loser. But it is coming off How often are you exercising?

Thank you! My losses have been in waves. I've had a couple of 3-4 week stalls already. Those suck. Honestly, exercise is something I need to improve on! I walk on occasion but since it's gotten so cold I haven't done that. I really need to tone up though!

I know, my excersing could be improved on that's for sure. I take a class once a week and walk my dogs 3 times a week. I have been really busy(I know that's not an excuse) and I cannot get out of bed earlier to do it in the am. I keep setting my alarm earlier then hitting snooze!!! ugh

Great work! I feel the same way -- best decision I ever made. I can't believe I look forward to going to the gym too! I've been going 5-6 times a week, andit feels great! Glad to hear you're finding the same thing. Keep up the good work.
