  1. I hear you. I also had my sleeve surgery in August 2013 and last year I gained back about 20 lbs. My doc explained that the stomach is a muscle that stretches over time, so she recommended a "reset" (there's a 5 day and 2 week version - you can google it -- it essentially recreates the initial 8 week post-surgery diet from clear liquids to solids in a compressed time frame) to shrink the pouch. I did the 5 day version and lost 10 of the 20 I want to lose in the first month. I definitely get full much faster again, and it made it easier for me to get back on track. If that doesn't work, my doc discussed a combination of medications that control cravings and make it easier to get back to goal and stay there. I opted for the reset because I don't want to take medications if I can avoid it, but I will if I can't get to my goal soon because I am eager to have the excess skin removal surgery, which will be the crowning glory from this journey. I'm interested to hear if anyone out there has tried the medication therapy yet and if so, whether it was helpful.

    August 2013 Roll Call

-113.9 lbs since I started last August and feeling great! Down to a size 16 (from a 30/32) - wore a little black sequined dress & sky high Jimmy Choos to a wedding last week, danced every single dance and didn't even think abut the dessert table or the wedding cake! Hang in there everyone -- it's worth every second of this journey. Nothing tastes as good as being healthy and fit feels!!!! The carbs just aren't worth it when you see the results.
  3. Nov. 27th was my 3 month anniversary. Started at 323.7, now 247, for a total loss of 76.7 lbs (lost 21 lbs during pre-surgery liquid diet and 55 lbs since the surgery). Glad to hear others are having so much success too.
  4. Great work! I feel the same way -- best decision I ever made. I can't believe I look forward to going to the gym too! I've been going 5-6 times a week, andit feels great! Glad to hear you're finding the same thing. Keep up the good work.
  5. Hang in there Mocha. It's worth it when the scale moves. Maybe going back to liquids for a few days will help?
  6. Ask them for Zofran to battle the nausea. It really helps.
  7. Me too! Yay us!!!! How r u feeling?
  8. MissVickie-- I did 2 weeks of liquid pre-surgery, and now doing 2 weeks of thin liquid post-surgery. In weeks 3 and 4, I progress to purée. I move to soft foods for weeks 5 and 6. I don't go back to regular food until week 7.
  9. Those sound like excellent tips. Thanks! Any tips for how to beat this sugar withdrawal headache?
  10. My date is 8/27!!! Starting my liquid diet today. Very excited! Any tips from the early August people?
