anyone else felt the way I do

Recommended Posts

Okay so I went to a bday party and let me say it was so emotional seeing everyone eat. Like I dont mean to pass judgement but they looked like pigs with 2 hamburgers and a hotdog with fixings and handfuls of chips. And I saw a kid drink 3 cans of pepsi within half hour.who does that! Anyways at first I was discusted, then angry, then regretful, then sad. I even almost cried. I know its all in my head and I dont really want that crappy food. Im happy losing over 20lbs in 10days. I just had to get out of there. Anyone else experience feelings like that or am I just crazy??!!

I see the same thing now. My hubs and I went out to eat. I ordered a baked crabcake app...and ate 1/3 of one with a little salad. There wasn't even a drop of juice on his plate when he was done...and eve ryone eats sooo fast! I can't pass judgement. I am just thankful I am not that way anymore

Yes, I think we all pretty much feel that way! It's like our eyes have opened and we see things so differently. I can't imagine eating that much anymore and yet I used to out eat most of the people who eat around me. It's funny because I was afraid people would watch what I put in my mouth and yet it is the other way around!

I too was shocked after watching my sister-in-law eat some cheesesteak topped fries shortly after my surgery. I wasn't disgusted at her, but at thinking I could easily have eaten the same thing in the same amount of time only weeks before. I'mthankful for a tool that has me on a path to changing my old habits.

Post-sleeve, it's definitely weird to see how much "normal" people eat, and trying to comprehend that I used to eat that much too! It's kind of surreal.

I know I have no right but yeah, post-op I do find myself thinking some very judgemental things when I see people waddling past with laden down trays. But what really makes me angry and ashamed and a lot of things, is when I see average size people, definitely not fat, chow down on a humongous messy burger, fries, slurp down an enormous soda, and they are fine! There is no penalty!! They just go about their business and don't gain weight!!!! THAT'S SO UNFAIR!!!!!!!!!! Here I am, watching my every calorie, had major invasive surgery, and they get to eat like gluttons without fear! Grrrr.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
