3 weeks out and worried about light-headedness

Recommended Posts

First time posting :) Hi everyone! This forum has been a real source of support for me and I appreciate all who post!

I'm concerned about my liquid intake, three weeks out. I was sleeved on 8/1, and have a stricter diet to where I am in the full liquids phase only as of a few days ago. I started to get into full liquids, had some thin Soups and was enjoying the variety when I had a really tired day on Monday. My stomach was sore and my body was exhausted. I felt like I needed to go back into straight liquids, like I was moving too fast (and oh, how I craaaved that Soup before!). Now I am concerned--I'm still struggling to get in more than 3 shakes a day (total 24oz, 70g protein) and maaybee a full glass of Water as well (10oz.) I can't seem to get it all in. I feel full all the time, with no desire to eat. I describe it as if you had just eaten a Thanksgiving dinner, and someone said "Now drink a glass of water". No way.

Anyone else out there struggling to get all of your Water in? Any advice on how I can get more into a day? I've started drinking some Gatorade because I'm starting to feel dehydrated :(

I'm 2 months out and still struggle with getting all my liquids in. Just do your best and any concerns call your doctor.

I am 3 weeks post op too. I start my day with Water so that I can get 8 oz in first thing. Then I move to Greek yogurt for the Protein. Takes me about 20 minutes to eat one container. Try thinning out the Protein Shake with more water and sip on it for 30 minutes. That should give you more liquids and reduce that stuffed feeling.

I was sleeved on 5/14 and it took me a couple months to get my liquids and all those Protein shakes down too and I also felt weak but I just made sure I was taking all my Vitamins and honestly only had one shake per day, couldn't do more than that. I think your body is still adjusting especially since u just got sleeved on the 1st but if u especially concerned call the doc.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
