Help...recurring stomach flu!

Recommended Posts

This is a bit of a TMI post so I apologize in advance! Last Monday I came down with either the stomach flu/food poisoning. I threw up yellow bitter stuff Monday and part of Tuesday then I felt better although a bit dehydrated. I stayed on the BRAT diet and took Zofran just in case and felt better but come on Thursday I once again felt queasy..however to prevent throwing up I took Zofran. Friday night I once again started stowing up so I took myself to Urgent Care and was given Zofran and told it wasn't serious. I awoke a little while ago and threw up yellow bitter stuff once again. So my question is what would you all do? Is this serious enough to run to the ER or should I should wait and call my PCP tomorrow morning?

I would definitely call your PCP tomorrow morning- sounds like you could be throwing up bile, which could mean you are having gallbladder issues, and you need to have that checked out.

I just had my gallbladder removed, and while I did not throw up, my worst symptom was nausea, almost 24/7. Nothing helped the nausea, not even Zofran. My doctor did not think it was gallstones at first because I did not have any pain in my gallbladder area- but I insisted on an ultrasound, and sure enough, I had multiple gallstones. So, even if you are not having pain, you could still be having issues- do not let them just send you home without running any tests.

Thanks for the reply! I had my gallbladder removed almost 4 years ago so I can't imagine what in the world is wrong with me. I've never heard of or experienced stomach flu/food poisoning that is on and off.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
