I am feeling really good physically and see the doctor for my two week post op on Tuesday May 13. Looking forward to the weigh in. One small problem creeping back is my late night eating. I can follow my diet all day but after 8 pm I am grazing and it scares me that I am eating calories right before bed just like before the surgery. The difference is that I eat sugar free stuff now like Jello, pudding and ice pops but what happens when I can eat real food? ??

I am glad to hear your good! Yes we all can not wait for the first doctor weigh in, it is a very exciting moment! :) Try to find something to occupy your time from 8pm to whatever time you go to bed. That helps a great deal. Maybe try going for a walk instead or reading a book or if you have little ones go play a board game or something with them until the urge to graze has passed! Keeping our minds busy helps us to forget that we may think we want something to eat.

A lot of it is probably head hunger which will make you think you want something but in reality our bodys don't really need nor want it. Also if it may help try putting a sign on the fridge &/or cabinets asking "are you hungry or are you just bored" my daughter did that with her roommate while away at college bcuz they found themselves always looking for something to eat while they were bored & so when they would go to the fridge they would see the sign & ask themselves why they were looking for something to eat & if it was bcuz they were bored & not bcuz they were hungry they would try to find something else to do. Hope some of this is helpful to you!

Thanks cherbear. I will try to do something else. Our five kids are all grown and out in there own, two with families of their own. I was thinking about contacting my NUT and ask her to go over the food journal. Someone today thought I was not getting enough calories during the day so I should eat bigger breakfasts or lunches to help.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
