Cutting food vs. biting into it?

Recommended Posts

I'm 9 weeks out- I'm wondering how many of you pre-cut your food into tiny pieces (and how tiny) or if you just take small bites? I feel like when I cut up my food, it gets cold too fast/kind of dries out and becomes un-appetizing. I am still eating less than an ounce at a time so of course I'm still struggling with my Protein goals!

When were you able to just bite into food?

I usually cut mine as I go. I don't cut it all up at once for the reasons you listed above. I can just bite into things but I find when I do my bites are usually bigger than I intend for them to be and then I eat too fast. I probably cut my bites about half the size I did before I had surgery.

Maybe my bites are too small? I'm cutting them into mini-M&M size...and then my plate looks so full and I just feel like I'll never eat all of it! I'm going to try cutting my bites a little bigger and see if I can get more Protein in.

Thanks!

I cut the bites of my meatball in dime-sized pieces and was able to eat the whole meatball (minus one tiny piece). Tuesday, I could only eat 1/2 of one, so maybe the slightly bigger bites work for me.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
