Hey Sarge, it's a daily struggle, I try to make a goal for a day and that really helps me. Like today I will be drinking 64oz of Water before eating anything and when I do eat it will be mostly Protein and keeping my carbs under 20 grams today. One hour at the gym. I plan on doing this all week, but just focusing on today so I don't mess up. By doing 5-6 days of this in a row I usually lose atleast 3lbs or more. Sunday I plan on eating some carbs we have a big feast at our Church.:hungry: :nervous

Good morning all!! Spring is getting closer and closer!

Those 6 pesky pounds that snuck on last week have left and taken 6 of their friends with them! I am ecstatic! It's so nice to see your hard work pay off!

Sarge, don't be too hard on yourself. You feel off the wagon but it's because of that pesky bump in the road called sickness. Sounds like you are already determined to pick yourself up and dust yourself off. We all have those bumps. They are inevitable. But you will come out strong, I know! :heh:

Keep up the good work everyone! We have to remember that we are in a much better place than last year at this time! And think about next year when we enter bootcamp! It's exciting to think about!!! :clap2:

Hey all. I'm back. I've been sick the past four days with flu like symptoms. I didn't throw up (thank god) but I did have the runs like nobodies business. I lost the 6 pounds I gained plus an extra pound so I'm happy about that.

So far today Ive had two pieces of wheat toast. For lunch I'm having a small piece of lasagna (might change my mind because I'm thinking about not having the carbs) and for dinner meatloaf and veggies.

Hi Guys!

Guess what? :) WE WON :woot: :clap2: :clap2: :clap2: . My son's Squirt AA level hockey team won the tournament in Pittsburg Pennsylvania this weekend!! I was sooo proud of them!

Yes sarge, I'm back and need to kick it into gear! I started my period(ugh!:tired ) So I have gained 5lbs as of this morning....but I think some of it is Water weight that should come off now that I've started. :)

I ate terrible of course in Pennsylvania!! Well, it could have been worse I guess...but I didn't drink water like I should have! So I'm starting right now!!

Great to be back w/all you guys!! PS if anyone lives in Pennsylvania...its beatiful there!

Good to be back on track!

Turner...YAY!!!! That's AWESOME! I know how exciting that is. Growing up my brother played G.L.A.H.A. hockey and we traveled a lot for his games and tournaments. It's always so exciting for the players and families. Congrats!!!

Hey Sarge!!!!! I know that I havent been posting as I should lately...I have been just feeling so blah lately and sick from Thursday thru today...Guess a bad cold or the flu, but I found out how hard it was to throw up thru something smaller than a straw....Its not any fun and I dont want to experience anything like that again...I did start working out again yesterday...But alas, even with me not being able to eat I still havent lost anything...I am going to be lucky just to have a 2-3 lb loss for this month and that really discouraging since I had 9 last month...But I guess that my body was taking a break...I am trying to get everything straightened back out and back in line, but its just depressing...I am glad to hear that everyone is back feeling better and glad that I am not alone on my depression these days...Cudos and cheers for those that are doing great on their loss and keep it up

Had a great day today. I'm soooooo tired though......it might be because I'm not restricting my carbs enough. I don't understand enough about the good carbs/bad carbs thing and that might be part of my problem...I eat a rice cake with Peanut Butter for lunch quite often as well as vegetable barley soup....if I eat 60 carbs a day how to I know how much of that was really bad carbs?

Anyhow....I'll just keep moving towards my goal...frustrating as the scale can be.

Today I ate:

B- cottage cheese and fruit

S- rice cake with peanut butter

L- Barley and vegetable Soup

S- 4 pretzels

D- 2 bites of chicken breast and 3 bites of veggies before it got stuck.

S- 2 licorice

72 oz of Water

Even if I eat too many good carbs I gain weight, i try to keep my carbs at 20 or less a day for atleast 6 days in a row. On the seventh day I eat carbs then get right back on, this seems to help me with my sweet tooth.

We all have our ups and downs but thank God we have each other to be there to encourage and console when necessary.

So far we are all winners. We are going far even after reaching some numbers on a scale.< /span>

Let's stick together and do this to Spring and through Spring of 07, 08 and LIVE OUR LIVES.

I am back and looking for the support from my fellow labbanders again. I was banded 12/27/05 and I did very well, I lost 135lbs. Then in December I ate a Sundried Tomato and did not realize that I swallowed it whole! I used the meat Tenderizer and such and thought it passed. I had lots of pb problems and on January 30 I went under fluro and there it was! We took 4cc's out let the sucker pass and I have been unrestricted since. I have gained about 15lbs (my nutritionist says it's mostly Water I was severly dehydrated) So now my vacation from the band is over and I need to schedule a fill soon I think I am all back to normal. I still have about 50lbs till goal and this bump in the road has changed my course but........

Here I am ready to pick myself up brush off my uniform and get back to Basic Training here in Boot Camp! I cant wait! I am trying to keep to good food, enough water and do my exercise but I keep starting and fall back to my old habits.... Depressing cause I was doing so great! With my fellow soldiers I will get back.... I can do it We can do it... I want to Brass Ring and I am gonna get it!!! Have a great day everyone!

Four days post surgery. I am sipping as fast as I can and getting NO WHERE near the goal of 60 - 80 grams of protein or the 64 oz of liquids. I just feel FULL. I don't know if it can still be the gas build up (I would think by now that would be gone) but it is a struggle to drink. And so far I have not had the nausea or spasms and don't want to wander into that territory by pushing too hard with liquids. I about passed out today as it was my most "strenuous" day. Went from second story to basement for shower and I was sure I was going to pass out. Looking back on my last few days I have had a total of less than 1000 calories. Am I just not getting enough nourishment in me? Once again a friday where I can't get ahold of the doc until Monday rolls back around so I am hoping maybe someone here has some experience on how to keep energy going. I do have fibromyalgia too and that may be where some added fatigue comes into play. How did you all fair with the goals the week after surgery?

2 days until I fly out to San Diego to have my Bypass Surg. in Tiajuana Mexico. Not gonna lie, the nerves are starting to surface. I don't fear the surgery itself, or the fact that I'm traveling alone, but its the aftermath that I'm stressing about the most, after this 8 week wait. I'm excited to finally be here, but I am really dreading the post surgical chapter. I know its going to be tough, real tough and I think I'm just in my head to much now that the day i here. Wish me luck, Hopefully I'm one of the lucky ones, and everything goes smoothly. Cant wait to give an exciting update,. If there is anyone else have a June bypass or even a recent one, Id love to have someone to compare war stories with. Also, anyone near San Antonio Tx? See ya soon with the future me. 💜

I'm in Houston so kind of near you and had the sleeve in Dec. Down 61 lbs. Feeling better. Was definitely worth it. I hope the everything is going well for you. Update us when you can!

I am back home after my bypass surgery in Tiajuana. I'm post op day 4. Everything went great! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who have not encountered much pain at all, no nausea thus far and I'm having no problem keeping down broths and water. Thank you for your well wishes. I cant wait to keep up this journey and have a chance at better health and simply better quality of life. I know there will be bumps in the road ahead, and everything won't be peaches and cream, but at least I have a great start so far. 😍

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

I'm so happy for you! You are about to change your life. I was so glad to get the sleeve done in Dec. I didn't have feelings of regret overall. And I'm down almost 60 lbs. I do feel a little sad at restaurants. I can barely eat half a kid's meal. I get adults meals often because kid ones don't have the same offerings at times. Then I feel obligated to eat on that until it's gone and that can be days. So the restaurant thing isn't great for me. All the rest is fine by me! I love feeling full with very little. I do wish I could drink when eating. And will sip at the end. Just a strong habit to stop. But I'm working on it! You will do fine! Just keep focused on your desire to be different. Not better or worse. But different. I am happy both ways but my low back doesn't like me that heavy. So I listened (also my feet!). LOL! Update us on your journey! I'm not far from you. I'm in Houston. Good luck and I hope it all goes smoothly! Would love to see pics of the town you go to for this. I've never been there. Neat you will be traveling for this! Enjoy the journey. Take it one day at a time. Sometimes a few hours at a time. Follow all recommendations as best you can. 💗

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I am hoping that everything goes easy for me as well. We don't eat out much as it is, so it wont be too bad in that department. Thankfully. Also, I hear you regarding your back and feet!! I'd like to add knees to the list. Killing me as we speak! I'm only 5' so the weight has to go. Too short to carry all this weight. Menopause really did a doosey on me. (😶lol) My daughter also lives in Houston. with her Husband and my 5 grand-littles. I grew up in Beaumont, so I know Houston well, I will be sure to keep in touch and update you on my journey. I may need some advice in the future, or just motivation. Thank You so much for reaching out, I was hoping to connect with someone in the community. I really appreciate it. 💜
