I received my call of approval on the 16th, I received the actual letter today and was super excited and took a picture of the letter and sent it to my friend. First it irritated me that I have been talking about this since January, I told her the whole process of me choosing sleeve over bypass, she acted confused and said "is this different than bypass?" uhhhh yes. So I explain the process, I send pictures and tell her the reasons, again, why I chose the surgery. Anyway she comes back with "I just read about it online, it says you have to be able to count calories, do you think you will be able to count calories after if you couldn't do it before?" I than tell my sister in law about what happened and she says "Boy that's rude, I would be lying if I didn't say I have wondered the same thing but would have never come right out and said it" sighhhhh guess I just have to prove them all wrong.

that is one way of looking at it...but I offer the alternative of taking the stance that you don't need to prove anything to anyone...you are accountable to one person only--yourself! focus on your own initiative in making this decision and having the courage to go forward

Macy, I'm so sorry your friend and sister-in-law said what they did. It could be that they don't understand what a powerful tool the surgery is to help you get to your goal weight. Are either if them overweight? If so, they may be a tad jealous that you are on the road to a normal weight and healthy lifestyle.

And that's exactly what you'll do. You show them all!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
