Bye bye thunder thighs...tales from the sleeved side.

Good bye thunder thighs. I won't miss you. No food tastes good enough to indure the endless painful chub rub daily. No chocolate is worth not being able to cross my legs. No holiday foods could make me love this buddha belly. I won't miss my old self or play mind games with myself and say I was perfectly happy and healthy the way I was before. I will not sabotage myself with untruths. Truth is I was miserable. I was on the fringe of society. It was hard to find clothes could only shop at fat stores. Then it became hard to find shoes again only at the fat stores. Everyone felt the need to tell me about their diet or exercise plan. I was tired all the time. And people would ask me if I was pregnant. Very embarassing. I am enjoying 20 pounds gone, bra shopping in a regular store, having a thinner face. Sure this post op recovery has been a total b***h but I will get better and stronger every day. I will set myself up for success. And I will win.

What are your motivators? How do you keep focused?

You are so right! No piece of food is worth giving up health! I love your message here!!!

Others feel like they can't eat in front of me or talk about certain food or restaurants, but truthfully I DON'T CARE!! I'm disgusted now by the things I've put in my body and the harm I've caused. IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!!

Don't you look at food portions and think wow that is way too much? And I used to eat that and something with it!

All the time. I'm amazed by how much I could eat before... But I'm even more amazed with how full I feel after a couple oz of food now. It's really incredible to eat so little and feel so satisfied.

Your title of this post really caught my eye! That is definitely one of my problem areas, those dreaded thighs! I had to go shopping last night because I'm starting a new job and have to wear khaki pants. Several that I tried on fit just fine in the waist, maybe even a tad loose, but so tight around the thighs. I am sooooo looking forward to the day when this isn't as much of a problem!

I met my cousin for dinner tonight and we split fajitas for ONE.. There was food left on the plate lol. I am amazed at how full I get and to think I used to eat fajitas for one by myself with queso and blah blah!!! My weakness is hot tamales.. I'm off diet coke and a box of hot tamales lasts me like 3-5 days but its like I have to have them... chocolate no grosses me out, but how do I stop eating hot tamales. I do not eat them daily I will say that... I don't keep them in my house...

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
