I think you should ask about it. The stuff that's coming out, I rather it out than in. It resembles a light blood color. He said over the next few days it will turn to a straw color. Means healing properly. I searched it on the internet and I've seen lots of people with drains.

I had a drain while in the hospital, because my liver was oozing...They took it out before I went home.

I also had a catheter so they could watch my urine output.

Roxiaa...every day you will feel stronger!

Its 1:55am my time and I'm back up pouring the stuff out this drain baggie. So is the stuff coming out from my liver? And he just didn't mention that part? Whatever it is im glad its coming out though...these gas pains are ridiculous! Almost finished the box of gas x strips. hopefully in the morning I will feel better..

Hey y'all!! I'm day two post op from having my lap band removed and being sleeved. I stayed over night and got to come home yesterday afternoon. The gas pains are the worst, I've been walking like crazy and taking the pills for gas and nothing seems to be working. I have 6 lap incisions, two bigger ones, one from where my port from my lap band was removed and the bigger one where he removed my stomach from...its by far the sorest since more muscle was cut into with it. I didn't have to have any drains, sutures, or staples, just have dermabond over my incisions, so I can shower and all that good stuff. I'm just taking it easy and sipping on my protein shakes, water, and sugar free popsicles. Hope everyone else is doing great!!

Congrats!!!! Try GasX strips, they worked well for me :) and walking definitely helps a lot

Update: These gas pains are ridiculous!! Gas x strips Do Not work! Or they aren't working for me. I need to do a #2 but that isn't happening. I took MOM around 9am, it did nothing but give me extra gas. I have no appetite, can't eat anything. I try to keep up with water. I have been on this same cup of jello allday....I don't want to force anything down that doesn't want to go down. Besides the gas pains, I'm doing ok. Walking throughout the house at least every hour that I'm awake. I guess this is what recovery feels like. I wanna get past this part, wish I could have skipped through it. Btw my temperature was 99.7 and if it gets to 100 I have to go to the ER. I'm in prayer....

I'm praying for a speedy recovery.

Hello everyone...sorry I couldn't post earlier but I have been feeling horrible! With every ice chip I ate' date=' I puked along with blood since yesterday. I took the leak test about two hours ago, the contrast stood down so the nurse brought me some jello. So far it's staying down. I'm feeling a little better than earlier. I have so much gas trapped behind my rib cage, I was having a hard time breathing and had to be put on oxygen several times. All I keep telling myself is the pain will go away.[/quote']

The gas will go away in time. I got myself admitted to the hospital last night bc of SOB, and extreme gas pains. I'm such a wimp with this type of pain. Still in hospital waiting on my doctor, she's got me NPO so I don't know what she has planned. It will be worth it in the long run. I'm doing a little bit better this morning and was able to walk a lot and often. Walking always feels a bit better. Good luck to all of us and a speedy recovery with no complications. WE CAN DO THIS!!!!

Feel better soon...

Hello all my sept 25th sleevers! Congrats we made it through. I'm really struggling with the pain an nausea. Much better than 2 days ago but when I drank I can feel everything and that makes me nauseous. Trying to stretch out the pain meds but I need them. Anyone have pain while burping??

Yes I have pain when burping and hiccups. I feel everything too but fortunately the nausea has subsided.

Nausea has gone away, just the gas pains that come every few mins. They hurt like hell!! Food is now a turn off, can't really eat anything. I'm afraid im already dehydrated...

I made it the surgery just fine. No nausea, but I feel ya on the gas pains. The are coming and going. They told me walking helps. I just went for one down the hallway. I know I can get through this. Morophine is my friend. I hope to go home tomorrow.

Get some broth in and hot tea is a relief for your new tummy. I can't tolerate cold. Also when drinking/ sipping exhale before you take in fluids because typically when we drink we usually inhale, we have to relearn how to eat but in a different way.
