I am trying out protein drinks, but from reading other posts on here it sounds like people's tastes change after surgery.

I found this web link on here:

http://www.nashuanutrition.com/store/protein-powders/protein-powder-samples-1-serving.html

You can order Protein powder samples for $1.95 each. They have TONS to choose from!

Thanks! I'm so excited I want to shout it from the rooftops' date=' but then I remember I haven't told anyone other than hubs and BFF... So I'm really glad to be a part of this forum where I can share my excitement![/quote']

I'm coming across a lot of unsupportive people. Today is the only day I have been bothered by it.

Awifeinmichigan,

What happened? Remember why you are doing this for yourself. Focus on the health benefits and those who are supportive. Visualize all the positive changes that will come. Imagine a happy, energetic, healthy you post-op and focus on that. Remember we r here for you :). Join a group.

Everyone has that one person who has always been supportive no matter what you do or say. Well my one person decided to tell me they didn't see the benefit in my decision and it had bothered me just a bit. However, I see the benefit and those who don't agree can just watch me from the sidelines and stay fat because I won't be in my future. Also I truly thank the friends that I have made on this site for support and understanding.

Wow! I had to read this 3 times to make sure it was from you! Come on SISTER. ... this is the beginning of the new you.

I remember while I was in the hospital ,one of my nurses (very pretty face, who had the sleeve done 2 years ago) told me that I would have people "hatin'" or telling me that I shouldn't had done this. We are pretty & some friends don't want to lose their "fat" friend. They will try to discourage us and make us feel regretful.

You are beautiful now and will be aftrewards. This is just another factor figured into this weight loss procedure. I hope this helps... not sure what else to say, but stay strong! {{{Hugs}}}

I know I have always been upbeat and not caring what others think. Thanks Sis for the pep talk. I'm coming back to my normal attitude. I was just not ready for the negativity today.

Me too Nighty Night!

Who is doing your surgery? I am getting sleeved by dr. Ponce de leon in Tijuana...I am hoping what everyone says is totally true and that you start to crave the healthy choices' date=' it's a drastic change in food choices but ya gotta do what ya gotta do![/quote']

Dr. Kelly in Tijuana. Nova hospital/ hotel Lucerna. I feel like I can do well with the sleeve. It's the recovery time that worries me a little.

My best frend been the hardest on me over the years. But when i told him what I am doing he though I was nuts. But when I told him what he was and had been doing . He though about it an is now on board . ps he is 135 lb

Hello all Im going on month 8 of my 6 month required program for insurance. I am still waiting for a date due to a yellow light from psych because of my job. I meet with her again in a couple weeks so Im just gonna hop on the Sept bandwagon and hope! Lol

I have gone thru classes and meeting and labs and testing, lost required weight 30lbs. I have tried and stocked my shelves with almost every protein prepared for my 2 week pre op ...I feel like im in limbo now

Im canadian and trying to get a passport for my surgery on september 10th...im freaking out and worrying i wont get it back in time!!! Anyone else in the same boat as me??

My surgery will be in September sometime. I'm hoping for the 5th but will find out on Wednesday . I can't wait! I'm on a low carb diet to lose preop and I've lost 25 of the 37 my surgeon wanted. It took a little over a month. I'm walking 2 miles a day and doing strengthening exercises. I already feel better!

I have two kids.....wishing I could do more with them. I've struggled with my weight my entire life. I use to tell myself, "I'm chunky but healthy!" "I'm not going to be one of those people that counts calories and eats like a bird. I'm gonna eat what I want, when I want!" But what I didn't see was that I was not living. I was not enjoying life and all it offers.....especially being more active with my kids. My BMI is not as high as others.....it's 37.5. And I had a few people say, "you're not fat! You don't need surgery!" But when you've tried everything and its been a daily struggle ever since you can remember and it interferes with your life as a mother........you do need it! You need it for YOU! For your kids! To live longer, live healthier! I'm very happy to say that I began this journey 2 months ago and just this past week, I was approved for surgery! It still feels surreal. I'm scheduled for September 20th. I'm blessed to have supportive people in my life. Very happy I found this forum.
