I think that being sleevers we just have to make certain concessions...I stop eating the night before at 7 and take my first "fast" meal at lunch time. Then snack at some point and dinner again before 7. Then the next day not eating usually until late morning or lunch time again.

Yesterday I "saved" up most of my calories because I wasn't to hungry.

Well having that many calories for me at one meal was impossible, because its straight Protein and veg. I would have to eat something that might not be as "healthy" ?

So I think spreading those calories through out that 7 hour window is just going to have to work.

At first I spread it out more, the last couple of weeks I have a Protein Drink in my Ice coffee, I stretch it out from 8am-2pm or so then maybe have a crystal light or plane ice tea until dinner. So thats 100 cals, then around 450 because I never seem to stick to 400! I read somewhere (always dangerous) that maintaining that ketosis/fast state by only having low carb Protein drink did not put a strain on the body... but who knows!

Yes, I've switched from my oats to eating just a mini baby ell around 10 or so with crystal light Water throughout the day and then bulk of calories around 6-7. Since I don't seem to get very hungry at all it doesn't seem a struggle. Now, I think I WOULD have a struggle eating calories all mid day and nothing else! :(

FYE, you always find the most interesting stuff. I'd be interested to see how everybody else plays out according to the table (you can find the link for table inside the above link article)

well, according to the table:

I would put me in the "big losers" column

I fit in the age pretty much and time use loss #s 59/8wks

BMI - I think my BMI was around around 26.9 to start

average weight loss - I'm off the charts! theirs 7.12 mine 21 lbs at 8 wks.

avg lost week 1.07 theirs mine 3

Body shape apple

frame medium

TDEE (heres where it is way off!) theirs 2994 , mine 1875

Mobile

Weight lost on previous diet - their avg 3.6 um 100 :)

Medical condition affect weightloss - I'd say yes since I've had weight loss surgery but I guess no

Range of calorie intake on feed days - Steady

Change in feed day behaviour - less food, Snacks, sugary food, carbs, fat, more veggies, less dairy, fewer ready meals, i'd say less Protein for me. I don't drink so alcohol no factor

Fast days per week - two

Calories eaten on fast days - 401-500

Meals on fast days - here i was NOT average mostly Bfast plus dinner when first started, now mostly lunch, dinner

Macronutrients on fast days - mostly lower carb

Duration of total fast - 12-16

Binge behaviour - never

Fast day exercise - light

What was interesting to me was the average age (older) bigger losers, post menopausal bigger losers

I hope you guys don't mind... I just sent off an email to carorees at the 5:2 website/forums telling her a little bit about our group. Shes the one who is doing the questionnaire. She is a medical writer and has lost 50kgs herself. She is a moderator on the site. I gave her our group address, I guess she can read it, I'm not sure if outsiders can read it or not. I will let you know if she comments on my email.

If you have the time, read it, 12 page article on fasting, fun, fact filled and a little heady....inspirational, confirms the real reason we are all doing it, longevity and health.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
