At what point can you swallow capsules?

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on Monday, July 1st. I take medicine at night. It's a capsule (about the size of a tylenol capsule). I've been opening it up and pouring the little balls on a small spoonful of Jello. At what point do you think I can swallow the capsule whole without feeling like it's stuck in my throat?

Hello, I have not had surgery yet, still waiting for approval. Do you mind if I ask how the procedure went and how you feel now?

I'm feeling ok. I'm still a bit sore, but am limiting pain meds to night time. I was able to go to the gym today and walk a mile on the treadmill, albeit at a slow pace. The has isn't as bad as I thought it would be.

I could swallow them from the start.

Thanks. Maybe I'll try tonight since I can now take bigger sips of Water.

At my check up on Friday I asked the same thing. They want your tummy to heal so they say 6 weeks. I too am tired of crushing pills but I don't want tummy problems so I will wait the 6 weeks.

Ps ask your doc what they recommend :)

Thanks. I asked when I was discharged and they said to open it for now but I forgot to ask for how long.

I was told I had to wait 4 weeks. So far for me this crushing of pills is the worst! I dread it everyday!!

I was told that the pill has to be the size of a pencil eraser or smaller in order for it not to get stuck.

I waited about a month before taking some capsules. For Tylenol gel caps, I took those right away. I waited at least a month until taking regular Vitamins.< /p>

I'm confused! Did Dr. Nick not prescribe you a daily medication for ulcers that you take twice a day? Those are capsules. I desperately want to take some Tylenol.

I was told that I could take capsules the day after surgery - in fact one of my medications prescribed by my surgeon is a capsule, and I was also told that if I needed to take Tylenol in capsule form (the same size as my medication, approximately) I could do so when I was ready to stop the Lortab.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
