Anyone else getting sleeved in August?

  • Popular Post

I finally have my surgery date (8/14) and I am beyond excited. Looking for some sleeve buddies to go through this process with. I have been making changes already and so far so good. I have increased my activity level and stopped drinking Diet Dr Pepper, which was a huge change for me. What is everyone else doing to prepare? Does anyone who is post op have any helpful tips for things to have on hand after surgery?

I'm 4 days post op and ice chips were the worst!! I didnt think i would get any liquids in fooling with the ice chips. Small sips of room temp water helped immensely. Best of luck to ya!

Oh girl. I hear you -- anything too cold gives me spasms and I can't do it! Warm things -- broth, soup -- or room temp things are a must.

Re: protein.

Has anyone tried skimmed milk? My surgeon's nurse practitioner said its good for getting protein in. I have a latte for breakfast daily and add milk powder to my soups. It's working for me...

So glad you told me about the powdered milk, its so easy to add to soups and potato and carrot mash, just made it taste creamy, I have about 3 coffees made with milk aday :-D

Surgery was a success! Walking the gas off, but feeling great!

You know what else is good. A nice mug of horlicks before bed. ( just under 9g protein).

Think I'm going home today!!!. Liquids are staying down I can tolerate room temp water much better than the ice chips. And finally starting to get some protein in. This stuff is amazing!!!

I havent touched ice. Are you going home with a y meds?

All except one of them. I think its called dexilant or something but the doctor said I wouldnt start taking that one until the 30th after the 1 week follow up. How's your pain level?

Wow really, I will have to get some Pronto, its hard getting the protien in this will be a huge help? Thanks;-)x

Sleeved on 8/21 and so far feeling better everyday. Was able to get a shake down yesterday and made me feel so much better physically, even tried a little puree and it's getting easier to sip. Tried some tea yesterday and I'm think that hot liquids are not going to agree with me right away. Made my baby B feel kinda funny. Yes that's my sleeve's name, lol, Baby B. Aside from that so far so good. Hope all my fellow sleevers are felling as good! Cannot wait to see how we are all doing months from now!
