Anyone else getting sleeved in August?

  • Popular Post

I finally have my surgery date (8/14) and I am beyond excited. Looking for some sleeve buddies to go through this process with. I have been making changes already and so far so good. I have increased my activity level and stopped drinking Diet Dr Pepper, which was a huge change for me. What is everyone else doing to prepare? Does anyone who is post op have any helpful tips for things to have on hand after surgery?

Sleeved on 8/21 and so far feeling better everyday. Was able to get a shake down yesterday and made me feel so much better physically' date=' even tried a little puree and it's getting easier to sip. Tried some tea yesterday and I'm think that hot liquids are not going to agree with me right away. Made my baby B feel kinda funny. Yes that's my sleeve's name, lol, Baby B. Aside from that so far so good. Hope all my fellow sleevers are felling as good! Cannot wait to see how we are all doing months from now![/quote']

I wad also sleeved on 8/21 i an only drinking liquids.. How much puree did u eat?

Maybe about an oz, not a lot, I'm kind of afraid to still eat or drink, not being sure what will mess with my new tummy and such. But I know one thing, hot liquids so far make me feel funny.

I was sleeved 8/21.....only clear liquids for me till wed. So they said not to get too hung up on protein content. Just use this as a time to discover what I tolerate well and get iniquids so as not to dehydrate. So far so good.....

Thanks I'm day four in the hospital . It was rough the first three days now I'm taking in enough fluid and walking.

Excellent news! The first few days are not nice! Only gets better from here hun!

First day post op and I can not tolerate ice chips....are these things making anyone else nauseous?

They made me nauseous the day I got home. I did fine on them in the hospital when allowed to finally have them.

Going home. Dr prescribed omeprazole ' date=' tylenol liquid and sulfate something to keep the stomach staples lubricated or something like that[/quote']

Hope your pharmacy ad chewable omepraxole, mine sent capsules and it was nasty.

Sleeved on 8/21. Last night was my first night home. Spent the entire night nauseous. Still trying to figure out what suits me. Cold water is a definite no no. Comes right back up. Going to try and walk a little bit more. Maybe relieve some of this gassiness. Noticing its easier to stay up right when I lay down it gets all bad. Just wondering how everyone else is doing

No regular capsules. They go down fine. Little dizzy today day 5 need to drink

I had these strange inflatable boot things put on my legs when on the operating table' date=' I remember asking them what the hell was going on with my legs just before I passed out. Don't you're surgeons use those? I've not heard of being measured for the stockings to have them made. My calves were measured but just to determine what size they gave me. They had many different sizes on the ward. I'm assuming that not many sleeves are done in Germany?[/quote']

They do a lot of sleeves and bypass surgeries here now. I think it's increased in the past 5 years. I know those inflatable thingies you're talking about. I had them after my hernia surgery in Texas back in 2009. I don't suppose they use them here. The compression hose are standard for all surgical procedures here. They offer them in the hospital but even the XXXL wouldn't go past my knees. I have massive legs. The insurance finally approved me for one pair of these compression stockings. They cost almost 900 euros. The doctors told me that I'll need to wear them for 6 months after my surgery. It's supposed to help the skin regenerate and sag less during the quickest part of the weight loss.

Well I'm now day 1 of being home. Post op day 3 ice chips made me sick. Crystal light and water have been decent but they cant be cold. My problem is the protein shakes make me feel sick. Going to try different shakes that aren't choc or vanilla flavored. Any suggestions????
