Recommendations for my August Sleever Family:

Get pillows - it makes it easier to get you into a comfortable position

Heating pad or rice bag - even if your shoulder doesn't hurt you are still on your back quite a bit. The heat from the pad helps to relieve some of muscle stress

Get Mio Sports - it has electrolytes and B Vitamins - something a little more than Water and clear Soup and the electrolytes help with Fluid absorption

Walk - I know it will hurt but walk when you can, go slow' keep shoulders back, and eyes up (your feet have not changed so no Need to stare at them.

Use your leg muscles and not your stomach muscles when getting up and down off seats - less pain (plus your first mini workout :) )

Get Chloraseptic spray - it helps to get those important fluids down

Lastly ask for and accept help. With your care givers help it helps take off the strain at times where your stomach muscles might engage.

Done and back at hotel with lovely pain meds. Went well - doc even give pictures ! Back hurts but not sure if that is from lying on bed or procedure! The one incisission that the excess tummy came out of hurts plus I have a drain A(in for a week). Otherwise it went amazing!

How many incisions and drains? Glad you are doing well!

One drain (on the incision they took my tummy out of). And 4 incisions total (one right at my belly button .

Also take breaths as much as you can. Expands lung so help stretch those sore muscles a bit plus oxygen is one of the keys to healing - yoga devotees can attest to this

I'm scheduled for August 8. Just found out toddy. I've read on here about 1-2 weeks on liquid diet. My doctor only told me to be on the liquid diet for two days prior to surgery. Anybody know why the times are so different?

My doc didn't put me on a liquid diet at all. Depends on the individual and doc.

I would like to get a consensus: how many of you are going with the one incision or multiple incision sleeve??

I don't think it's a option, I think it's the Dr.'s choice. At least I wasn't given one, I was told how the procedure would be done, 5 incisions. I know that I won't have a drain, which is good for me. They hurt like hell.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
