Hi all..

I was sleeved may 6th.. It took me about a week after the surgery to go to the bathroom... And for a couple weeks it was everyday. But over the last month it's seems to be getting fewer and farther inbetween. My fluids were low.. I was getting about 40 hours when I was suppose to be getting. 64. Over the last week I have really made a conscious effort and got the 64 ounces down but nothing has happened with bathroom issue.

After surgery I took Miralax. And it took me the week to go. Should I keep waiting for the fluids to. Kick in or try milk of magnesia..or is it something I should be calling dr about

Thanks

It is definitely important to keep your fluids up. I had the same problem and Milk of Magnesia worked wonderfully for me. Mi was just careful to take it at night when I knew I was in for the evening.

You HAVE to drink more.... In the beginning I had to take 2 small doses of MOM before my bowels let loose. If this is still a problem after a little MOM, please call your doc. :0)

Good luck!

I'm 6 mo out & have had some REALLY bad BR moments! I now take a dulcolax once a week or so, when I feel I'm slowing down. We don't eat much = our intestines are not stimulated to move what little we have out. Even if we go every few days, with me at least....it's not much! & there's still more backing up! With the dulcolax...it empties everything...like a good cleaning. I don't use it on a consistent basis, don't want to get dependent on it, just whenever I feel I need it!

I'm 9.5 months out and have been constipated really bad 3 times. So yesterday I decided that I was only eating prunes for lunch and dinner. It worked! Today I had success.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
