August 2013 Roll Call

Recommended Posts

aug 7th sleever here

We are in the same boat! Hopefully the recovery won't be too difficult. I am thinking 1week without kids, one week with them then Labor Day so a short week. By then we should be smooth sailing as far as recovery goes. I think you have an extra week in there but we got this! Good luck!

Hi everyone! Today is my last night before I begin my (pre) pre-op diet tomorrow (one day early)' date=' lol. I took my 5-year old son out to dinner. Now, I have a bottle of wine on chill to Celebrate my new beginnings. Pray for me!!! Lol :-)[/quote']

Prayers are exactly what we need. Day one has been a killer. Hope and pray tomorrow is better. I plan to be out on the lake all day to keep my mind off of food. Good luck all.

I can't believe that I will be getting on a plane THIS Friday and heading to San Diego, and then Mexicali on Sunday. Hope I don't forget anything important! The pre-op diet is going well, but I am losing slower than you liquid only gals, as my diet is high protein/low carb. But a loss is a loss! :)

August 1st, whoohoo! I don't know if I'm counting down more to be done with the pre-op diet or to the surgery. lol. At least I feel like after the surgery I won't care about/want to eat. It is interesting, though, to be on a strict diet and knowing the end date, rather than trying to diet to get to a weight goal. Somehow, that makes it easier to follow and to remain positive. 4 more days, people!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
