My main incision keeps breaking open.

Recommended Posts

I'm 8 weeks post sleeve. The surgeon opened it more and cleaned it out the first time and said I had a hematoma. The next time, the WLS doc said it was a build up of Fluid tat had not dissipated yet. Now it's open again with blood coming out. What is up?? Help...

I don't understand why you still have open wounds eight weeks out. I think you need to contact your doctor.

patsy, are you talking about a large opening with a lot of blood/fluid? I am 6 weeks post-op and only my main, largest incision is not quite healed...it still is seeping a little blood/fluid but nothing that a regular thin bandage can't handle...in the past--not with this surgery--I have had some issues with slow healing and have seen a wound care specialist--perhaps your surgeon could refer you...just offering some suggestions

Oh my! I'm so sorry to hear this. Talk to your doc again. Ask if they have seen this before and what is going on. Ask for a wound specialist if you need to go that route. Good luck!

It finally healed. Now everything makes me nauseous and I can't eat. And, I'm dehydrated...

How to know if its healing? I'm 5days post op and my big incision is hurting a little. That's the only one...

Watch it carefully! You don't want an infection to start on the inside :-( I'm surprised they weren't more pro-active with it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
