This may be a dumb question, and I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but I had my surgery a little over a year ago and I'm wondering if getting in a lot of Protein is still a big priority, or if that becomes less important the further along you go? And if so, does anyone have any quick & easy (and especially cheap, I'm on a tight budget) ideas for getting in protein? After a year, I'm getting a little sick of the same few things I've stuck to and I'd like to change it up. I really did not like the protein powders that they recommended in the beginning, so that's not really an option for me. :( Thank you in advance!

I only know the answer to the first half of your question because it came up in my pre op class. Your Protein can be reduced based on height/weight on e you reach goal, but there will always be a minimum required amount. I'm 5'3"" and my range is 63-78, but anybody my height and shorter, the minimum will always be 63g/protein. So I will be aiming for 3 oz. lean protein 3x a day to avoid shakes.< /p>

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
