Hummus. OMG, loving it.

Recommended Posts

I can't believe how much my taste buds have changed since surgery. It wasn't all at once, but they are still changing. I discovered Hummus and love it sooooo much. I eat Hummus and 2 Melba toast for a meal and feel like I have had such a treat. So funny to me how different I feel about food. I call my pouch " peanut", pretty weird I know. I consider Peanut a different entity now. I think of feeding Peanut to supply my body with fuel. I no longer had the same relationship with food. I no longer consider food as 1. my friend 2. my comforter 3. my anti-anxiety drug 4. my social drug.......the list can go on and on. My head is no longer looking down, it's looking up. I'm wonder what can I do now to be more active, and to live.

Just sharing some of my thoughts this morning. Love you guys for such support and encouragement.

That is wonderful. I'm so happy to hear the positive. I'm having surgery tomorrow and maybe I'll have to name my new stomach too. That's a wonderful idea.

Thanks for the inspiration.

The name of my new stomach is "Dolores". I had my sleeve done in Lima, Peru and so dolores means "pains" haha. I was on medication when I named it, but at the time it really fit! haha

I like hummus too. It's pretty calorie dense and light in Protein, so I only have it as a treat food. Like many others, I think of my sleeve as Sleevie Wonder. It's done wonders for me and I'm still very happy two years out.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
