I had my sleeve done on 6/6/13. I am still in the post-op liquid diet stage and I absolutely cannot stand the taste or smell of chicken or beef broth! It makes me wanna puke!! I tolerated it before surgery..... Now I refuse to drink it! Anyone else have this issue? Any advice? :)

Not so much the broth, but I had quit drinking nutrasweet stuff months ago and now it makes me gag. The stuff tastes too darn sweet. I'm 11 days post op.

I couldn't stand any of the clear liquid foods. Can't stand the artificial sweetener, couldn't stand the broth --- it was rough! Luckily, I only had to do it for 1 week post op. Now I'm on full liquids and enjoying pureed Soups, greek yogurt, pureed oatmeal and milk. Hang in there, it does get better!!! :)

The other day I took a piece (about the size of a pencil eraser) of my favorite dark chocolate and it tasted like I had just licked the bottom of an ashtray. Today, my kids were hankering McD's fries and as they never ever ask for fast food, I complied. I tried a fry and it was HORRIFIC. I asked the kids if they tasted "off" and they said they were as yummy as ever, so I took a bite of a second one. BLUUUUUURP!!

So my favorite chocolate and my favorite fries, blech. SO happy!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
