3 weeks post op and need some diet opinions.

Recommended Posts

I know everyone has different diets from their NUTS but I'm just curious. I feel like I might be able to eat too much at one time. Today for instance I had half a cup of oatmeal made with Water and I felt like I could've ate more. And lunch I had about 3oz of Turkey with a lil bit of mayo and relish. Sound normal or too much? I'm just worried about failing at this just like every other diet attempt.

i think i was eating about that amount at 3 weeks. and i would eat that amount 4-5 times a day. No worries. sounds normal to me :)

That sounds normal. Especially with soft things like oatmeal....they slide right through. You'll start feeling more restriction when you move from less soft food to to more solids. Quantity doesn't matter as much as overall calories and carbs.

My nutritionist always shows me a cup (a coffee mug) and tells me that it can hold about the same amount as my stomach. She states that I should try to fill it each time I eat. She also says that it is a game as well, kind of like tetris, I need to chew my food really well so it will fill all the spaces of my stomach. If i eat too fast and too big of bites I can potentially leave empty spaces. With things like oatmeal, I can eat more because they do fill in nicely without much chewing. Just stick with what your nutritionist says and you should be fine! Have a super day!

I'm 10 days post op and I'm eating about 4oz at each meal. I'm currently on full liquids so I'm having things like pureed Soups, greek yogurt and watery/pureed oatmeal. I'm able to do the 4oz comfortably and don't feel too full - perhaps I could do a little more but don't want to push it.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
