I'm curious if you come out of surgery hungry?

I had the lap band surgery 8 years ago and I came out of the surgery so hungry... in my drugged state I asked the nurses for food! After being on a clear liquid diet for a week I went into surgery dying of hunger and came out that way too. Will it be better with the sleeve surgery?

The first thing I asked for was some water, because I had cotton mouth so bad. They gave me ice chips and I was fine. I didn't think about any kind of food until probably day 6 post op.

Fortunately I'm still not hungry. Almost 6 months out and it's only occasionally when I smell a good food that I get hungry. My lack of eating is probably a huge factor in my level of weigh loss. I find that ok since I'm not wanting to be interested in eating other to stay healthy.

I woke up dying of thirst and hunger. I can't figure out how a stomach that's just been cut apart could want food? I do get hungry at 9 months out but it still only takes a very small amount to fill me up. I've lost 140 lbs in 9 months so I don't think it matters if you wake up hungry.

I can't do it! It will not go down. I am going back to a Protein drink for breakfast and I'm choking down a Greek yogurt now. It's not by choice, trust me.

I can truly understand that... I first tried adding Protein powder to the Greek yogurt post-op, then I tried to eat without the protein powder, either way I was gagging as I put it in my mouth. I just couldn't do it.

Couldn't have eaten a thing and the thought made me ill. All I wanted were ice chips.

It will be 2 weeks tomorrow and still haven't felt hungry. ..obviously I eat (well drink) because I have to but really no hunger.
