Thanks for the advice. I just printed out all of the info from Dr. T's website and started filling it out. My next step is to go onto my insurance site and review what they require. ADumont: when will you find out when your surgery is, are you waiting on insurance stuff? thanks liz

It's funny I have been bothering my husband about getting a password for our insurance web site for days now. I finally set it up and went on line. I searched for bariatric surgery requirements for a full half hour. So finally I just googled the info and was able to get it in 2 minutes. Murphy's Law!!

Hello

I was wondering. I drink lots of seltzer Water and know the carbination is a problem. Will there be a point at which carbonated beverages can be consumed or do you have to x it off the diet forever.

 Yes, sad but true no more carbonation. It creates extra gas in the stoma and can cause the pouch to stretch. You can make it flat and then drink it , but whats the poinit with no bubbles. Its not bad, i got over my diet pepsi addiction very quickly before being banded.

good luck, you can do it!

Hi everyone. I'm new to the forum here. I live in Glastonbury and am scheduled to have my surgery on 2/16 with Dr. Tishler. My process to get approved took about 3.5 months.

I'm on the famous liquid diet now. Doing fine. Hope everyone keeps in touch.

Hi-

Had my surgery with Dr. T last November and everything has gone really well. I haven't lost as much weight as I wanted to but I'll keep plugging on. If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask and good luck with your surgery.

Hello Beachcomber,

I had my surgery done by Dr Nadzam on 3/14/07 the procedure went very well I was more than ready to leave the hospital after 24 hours, definitely follow the pre surgery diet it will make things go much smoother. You must be getting very excited and alot of mixed emotions. Speaking for myself it was the right decision I have lost 65 lbs since last year and am coming up on my anniversary and hope to lose another 10 by then, 15 would be terrific. Just saw your posting and saw Dr Nadzam name (great doctor) feel free to ask me any questions. Lots of luck

Mattie86,

Thanks for your reassurance. I just returned from the pre-op seminar with Chris and Diana. I believe that was my last requirement before surgery. I had the endoscopy last Friday. Dr. Nadzam was great...really reassuring.

I start the 1000 calorie diet on Monday. Do you have any suggestions?

Tina

Hello Everyone

I'm waiting for the surgery date. I've finished with my testing and waiting for Dr. T's office (Alba) to send the information into the insurance company. I'm hoping for a February or March date....I feel like I'm going to weight 50lbs more if I don't get it soon. Don't know why I can't stop eating...good luck to everyone!!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
