Sleeved May 31st down 32 pounds.

Surgery May 30th. Including 2 weeks preop 39 pounds. My hubby says he can see my clothes hanging off of me. Don't want to buy new ones till next spring. I stalled in week 3 also. Then a pound here and there. Two days ago the scale started moving again...3 pounds at a time....yippee!!!

Sleeved May 28th...down 50.5 lbs!

Wow! What a blessing! Congratulations on such incredible success, Tammy123!

I would like to share with all you marvelous May sleevers some encouraging information from my nut. She painted a great picture for me by saying, "Weight loss with the sleeve is like going down a flight of stairs. You land on a step and stay there for a period of time (a few days or a couple of weeks) with no weight loss and then you move down to the next stair (2-3 lbs lost in a week), then you stay on that step for a few days before moving down to the next step." This image is a perfect description of my journey of weight loss so far. And it appears to capture a lot of others' experience, as well. She also gave me the following nutritional goals saying that it is difficult to get more protein in when only eating 1/2 - 2/3 cup of food (normal for my stage at 10 weeks out). She prefers that the majority of protein come from food, at this point, with protein shakes filling in gaps throughout the week. Calories: <1000 Fat: 30 max Carbohydrates: 30-50 (excluding vegetables) Protein: 40-50 (eventually 70-80) Sodium, Na: no recommendation Fiber, total dietary: 25-35 (eventually)

I also wanted you to know that she said my surgeon has a very reasonable goal for his VGS patients of 50 lbs lost in five months. Most of you (and I) are on track for meeting that goal. Feeling very encouraged even though losing more slowly that some of you! Have a blessed weekend my soon-to-be skinny friends!

thanks, lean...that was some very encouraging words I needed to hear, as I am sure did others

I couldn't help smiling while catching up on this thread. I had surgery on May 14th, so I'm 2 months post-op today. I've lost 10-12 lbs. So it kind of tickles me when I read things like "only 50 lbs" or "only 5 lbs/week".

But I'm happy! I converted to a sleeve because the last chunk of weight I'd regained with the band were making me miserable. Clothes miserably tight, I was starting to consider needing new clothes, a larger uniform, getting too heavy for my horse, etc...all things that I could NOT let happen.

So the ~10 lbs that I've lost have been a VERY big deal to me. As I've told my hubby, I could easily spend the rest of my life at this size...I don't "need" to be a size 8 to be happy. In fact, if the last 7 yrs have taught me anything, it's to take the emphasis OFF my size and just live my life.

To be honest, too, though, I haven't been "working" the sleeve...as in, I don't track my calories, Protein, or water...I haven't even started consistently exercising, beyond riding my horse and becoming more active in general as I've started feeling better. I KNOW I'd lose more weight and lose it more quickly if I did, but I don't intend to track calories the rest of my life, so just kind of seeing what happens if I don't.

I know it helps that I didn't need to lose a lot to get back to "comfortable." I'd still like to lose 20 lbs...get back to my original goal weight that I reached with the band. But if I don't? I'm ok. Oh, and just had a check-up with my doctor...all my labs came back normal, so all is good there, too!

Oh girl! 50 lbs? That is incredible! We were close on our start weight and surgery date but I have only lost 39 lbs. Sorry to say "only". I should say' date=' "I have lost an amazing 39 lbs in 9 weeks!" So glad to hear of your success!!![/quote']

Thanks Im feeling great... I don't weight my self that much, that way when you weight its so excited!!! You are doing great keep the good work! What was your starting weight? I start 255.

Hi! I was sleeved on the 14th... I have lost 46 lbs so far. I am having a hard time lately with vomiting. For some reason I am struggling to keep food down. My husband, who was sleeved 4/17 has lost 73lbs and he has no issues...go figure lol. I was curious if anyone else was struggling with this and had any advice. Thanks in advance and congrats to you all!!

I was sleeved may 1 , down 47 # . I too have problems sometime and vomit but i know its because i didnt chew enough and ate too fast . Trying to get used to my stomache when it tells me Im full but the fat person inside wants another bite lol.
