LIST OF AWESOME

Ok, so I'm a boredom eater (and stress eater, and emotional, and on and on.) I would like a list of AWESOME things to do to fill my mind and time so that I can stop thinking about food. So far I have : read a book, go outside, relax or exercise. This list pretty much sucks. Please feel free to share your tips for filling your time and not your face!!

Whenever I want to eat but not hungry (usually at night) I brush my teeth, clean, work out, take a hot relaxing bath, or just go to bed!

Because you like to read, join a book club or even two or three. It will force you to read more and provide social situations that aren't food oriented. I agree with Nicolanze about the cleaning idea. It is rewarding and diversionary.

Go for a walk

Go shopping for smaller clothes

Give yourself a facial, manicure, or pedicure

Get a massage

Dance to music

Call a friend

Make a list of all your NSVs

Make a list of 20 things you are grateful for

I had quit smoking a few years ago. In order to cope I had "wall-paper therapy". In other words, the day I quit smoking I started peeling the wall paper in my kitchen. Every time I had a craving I got up and peeled wall paper. After 2 weeks, my kitchen was beautiful and I was officially nicotine free.

I just bought myself a sewing/embroidery machine to help with keeping my occupied

I make headbands and tutus!! No time to think about food when your making pretty stuff for your daughters, nieces, friends kids or even yourself :)) eventually you just won't care about food anymore.

How about learning a new hobby? That can really pass time. I have friends who knit, and they say it's relaxing and a great diversion. Plus, you end up with things to wear or give away!
