Hey Laura question, this lady that I know said she had a friend that had gastric by pass and when she lost all her weight that her vagina was hanging about mid thigh. Do you think that is even possible. My friend said it was because she lost alot of weight and lost it fast.

The one thing I like about the elliptical is that they don't make noise! I might check those out too!

Ha! My ellyptical makes a ton of noise, but it is also a dinosaur nearly 20 years old. It is time to send it out to pasture...

Hey GT. I'm sorry that ur in such a place. That must be frustrating as hell. Did u lose the 3-4 pounds that u gained, or are u still up? Secondly, I'm curious about the food that ur eating. I bounced from 128-131 off and on for about 4.5 months. Until recently I was eating crap food but still staying under 1200 or so cals- sometimes it'd be more. On Sunday I started the 12 week challenge and I chose to eliminate most processed food (including Protein bars). Even with this I'm still hitting 98 grams of Protein and my carbs are a little under 200. Here's the kicker- I've been losing like crazy. I've dropped three pounds since then. It's crazy. I've been eating lots of fruits, veggies, and lean meat. So my point is I'm still eating the same cals, but the food is really different. I hope things work out for u.

my food choices are limited - I'm deployed. Im working my way up to 1500 cals but am currently at about 1100, up from 750. I eat tuna, sardines, green salad, green apples, Protein Bars, oranges, milk, chicken, trout, steak but none of that is on a daily reliable basis. I just ran out of Protein powder.

@ MickeyDies - I had my thyroid checked about 4.5 years ago and I think they said I would eventually develop Hashimotos?? But frankly this was a podunk endocrinologist in MO and I'll get a second opinion, maybe if I go on R&R. Where you born without a thyroid? I started exhibiting signs of thyroid malfunction by the time I was 15, but we were too ignorant to figure it out.

Me too! I love my elliptical. Treadmills hurt my knees with the pounding' date=' but my elliptical is smooth with good resistance and incline. Burn baby burn![/quote']

It was a splurge for me at over 1500 bucks but I love all the 20 different resistance and 20 incline levels on mine. I can work hard but knees aren't paying the price.

Yes, I splurged on mine too. I actually got mine for $2k--on sale! But it was worth every penny. It's quiet, many different options and programs, many different levels of resistance and incline, fits in a corner, out of the way, and I use it for my morning and evening workouts (45-50 minutes). I've lost a good amount of weight on it and I have begun to tone up my thighs. No regrets with my purchase.

Sigh, remember when this thread used to be about resetting your metabolism with diet and exercise? Remember when a person could post here regarding that, and expect a good response that wasn't about treadmills??

Lol, we do need to get back on the topic. Sorry for leading it astray. I got a book this morning from the library about metabolism. Its called" The Metabolism Advantage" by John Berardi, PhD,CSCS. Only problem is its on mens health. Hopefully it can also help women. Its gonna take a little bit to read, when I m finished I will report back on what it says to do.

On men's health?? That's sexist! I wonder if the same principles apply??

I'm starting to get a lot of push back from friends and family regarding the TDEE and the IIFYM, and I don't feel educated enough on the science of why this is any more efficacious or healthful than the extreme low calorie. One nit picker had issues with the IIFYM website itself, finding it dubious and unprofessional - his words, not mine. As far as the proof being in the pudding, I have been strength-training focused for 3 weeks now, 2 weeks of IIFYM, and I am *up* 3 pounds* so, not feeling the love from this method yet.

*susan* (admin) stated in an old post regarding this exact topic that it took 6 weeks of increased caloric eating before her metabolism started working in her favor. And like you her weight climbed a few pounds before it turned the corner and dropped. Perhaps she will be kind enough to repost the content from her old post because it really does appear helpful in your situation.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
