Been a rough week or two or three

Recommended Posts

Death in family, issues at work, severe neck pain... just stuff.

I have been hungry and not wanting to work out. I had too many "meals out" - and even a couple of "drinks out" - just too much.

I moved into stage one of denial and stopped weighing myself about a week ago. Today i finally stepped on the scale - only up 2# so i am okay. It is time to return to daily accountability and eating the way i should. There, i said it.

deep breath - there was this little part of my brain that expected to be up like 10# or maybe 100#, who knows... LOL... just goes to show that facing the honest truth is easier then whatever it is we might be imagining. My clothes still fit, I just feel very fat which is completely illogical, but it is how i feel.

Jane,

You have had a lot happen in just a few weeks!

I can understand the pull of food especially when under stress.. It's my biggest challenge.

But on the bright side? 2 pounds, very manageable with tiny changes :) it sounds like you are at a very normal place as a normal weight person. That is something to be very happy about.

Hi Jane,

Glad you are back on track! I have a bounce range of 5 lbs. either side of my goal. I purposely set my goal so that would work for me. Maintenance is scary. It's one of the reasons I'm here almost every day. I know myself. Left to my own devices, without tracking and accountability, I would be at my top weight again in a few years, and I don't want that.

I'm thinking of you. Buy yourself a little present - you deserve it!

Lynda

So sorry you're going through a rough time, Jane. Life happens and we can't be on point all the time. Don't be hard on yourself. You got this! Again, so sorry for your loss.

I'm so sorry for all you're going through.

Glad you tackled it quickly... Something I don't do well with at all. Thanks for the reminder that we have to nip it before it get worse.

Take care.. Go on a positive ride and clear the ickies out ;)

I set my goal with the intention of it being the upper end. I have been maintaining 156-158 range for awhile. I hit 160 this am and that is the official panic button...LOL

the important point though is that i actually weighed myself. Stage 1 of denial is misplacing the scale every morning... and it goes downhill from there if I let it.

Best of luck Jane, so sorry for your loss. You are doing the best thing by maintaining conscience.

I just lost my cousin and my daughter in law's father had a horrible accident and was found dead. My client is having a really hard time and I am trying to get her to go to the hospital. So I have been eating due to emotional stress and have gained a couple of lbs too. So tomorrow it's back to Proteins and Fiddleman's 12 day challenge to help gets me back on track. I have to leave my work at work and not turn to food. :)

Oh ms skinniness, I am so sorry to hear this.

My dead sisters dog just died yesterday too... I am okay, but it was a little emotional. She loved that dog - she has been gone for 6 years and in some ways he was a little bit of a living reminder of her. She died in May too.

But, good news is that I am back to my goal weight! Now, I want to get a few pounds under, since my goal weight is my upper threshhold. :)

I somehow feel fatter though and i don't know why...

Isn't it funny how we feel "fat" when we know we have not been good? Even though, most times, we are probably closer or at the same weight. Sub-conscious and "old image" can truly do a "number" on us!!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
