Houston Tx, any June sleevers?

Recommended Posts

How are you doing? Who was your dr?

Because of my situation -no insurance, I went to Mexico, Tijuana and had surgery with Dr Quinones. I'm very happy with my care and results. I'm 16 days out and have lost 31lbs including my pre-op diet. I'm right on track and am only working on keeping my wounds clean and they are healing great although I have diabetes.

My surgeons office submitted everything toy insurance for approval last Tuesday 5/7' date=' insurance said they would let us know in 7 - 10 business day if I am approved. They put me down to have my surgery on June 7th. I am dying to get approval from insurance , the stress an anxiety of the wait is driving me insane. I feel like my life is at a standstill because I don't want to participate in any kind of social functions until after my surgery. I have been reading this site for a while and this is the 1st time to post.

Im also June 7 and cant wait and I also had to call my insurance to find out that I was approved. They told me that I was approved back on april 25 but what happens is these doctors offices get swamp with patients wanting summer surgeries so they try to buy time by acting like it may take 2 weeks which at times it can but most to all insurances either approve you or deny you quick. Now that that part is behind me I have until tomorrow to eat whatever I want and then I do 1 week and 5 days high Protein diet and yhen 2 days before surgery complete liquid..... Super excited and I know you are. My mothers surgery is this wednesday Im so excited for her as well..... I already had my Pre-op and met a group of sleevers around the same time

You can never bother your insurance company your a paying customer, like they told me and if it wasnt for them who knows when I would of gotten the call. When I called my doctors office they were acting like they never got it so I said well my insurance faxed me a copy of my approval an gave me the cobfirmation number and the authorization dates, then they said oh it just came in my office now while we are talking... I started laughing so hard

Hi all..I am in Rosenberg (just south of Houston) I was told by my insurance that I was approved for 10th of June..but the Drs office is saying they have to verify everything and all this other BS so the 10th is not a for sure thing.. I am so frustrated by this entire process...

Ok im in Atlanta but my insurance gave me so much informatuon ince I told them my doctors office said I wasnt approved then she told me everything so they will stop lying to me, they said my doctors submited on april 25th but my date would be from May 23-july23 they said most insurances only give a 2 month window. So when I told my doxtors office everything they couldnt lie anymore and like I said prior they may be over book for summer time its a lot of people that only can have a break off of work or whatever the case in the summer. So theyre trying to squeeze everuone in but in there order. I gaurantee you if you tell tgem your going to another doctor like I did they will get you in sooner. I said im sure any doctor would love soneone who has all there testing done and would love to make a quick $75,000 if not more.... So be nice but be firm and get your date!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
